Nothing to dislike

Stunning chateau in an amazing setting. Grounds were wonderful and the interior was superb. We had a wonderful welcome from Veronique with a complimentary bottle of wine served in her beautiful garden. There was a splendid breakfast served in the magnificent dining room.

It could not have been better!

It was a great pleasure to stay at this beautiful château, and what an utterly charming and welcoming host! The château and its gardens are stunning, with the river running alongside and the horses grazing in the meadow opposite, and we had a lovely view from our room. The room itself was spacious, and so tastefully and authentically furnished. Breakfast was delicious. We were also so grateful to Véronique for the dinner reservation she so thoughtfully made for us ahead of our arrival. The restaurant was perfect. We had only booked for one night on our way to Provence but wished we could have stayed longer. We extend our thanks again to Véronique for making this short stay an unexpected highlight of our holiday in France.

The breakfast was disappointing, just bread and croissants and could have been so much better with some fruit and cereal and would have made it a 5 star breakfast, as the presentation and setting was superb.

Great location and lovely setting, very friendly and helpful and our host organised all our restaurants for dinner with excellent recommendations. We especially liked L'epicerie.

Some of the stone tiles on the floor were loose and needed to be reset.

The Chateau was at the end of a short driveway and was full of rustic rustic charm. The room we had was large with high ceilings and stone tiles on the floor. It was like stepping back in time. The bathroom was clean and modern with a bath twin sinks and lavatory. Access to our room was via a large stone spiral staircase. Breakfast was served in the dining room on the ground floor at a large table with the other guests.

Beautiful historic castle with huge rooms, lovingly and comfortably furnished. Breakfast shared with other guests at a large table, with old silverware and historical plates. Large garden with pool, deck chairs, tables and seating. The owner is very friendly. We had a wonderful stay of several days. Location very quiet, yet you are very quickly in the next town.

Very warm welcome from Véronique who was charming & went out of her way to provide extra towels/kettle & an excellent recommendation for dinner (which she made). Breakfast was delicious & generous. When I complemented Véronique on the coffee at breakfast she kindly gave me a packet to take home!

This was our favorite stay in France. Stunning chateau and grounds with very spacious and comfortable room/suite with lovely, large updated bath; host made us last minute dinner reservations at a good restaurant; breakfast was standard/satisfactory; convenient location for us given our plan for Cluny the next morning; overall an exceptional property.

A beautifully kept and furnished historic chateau in a peaceful location close to Villefranche.

It is always nice to stay in a chateau, like this, large room, big and shiny bathroom with white tiles. Very clean. A large terrass with tables and chairs to use. A good breakfast with fine china and bread and croissants, which our very charming lady fetched from the baker in the morning. Perhaps a little hard to find, but the reward, when you do, is good. We had also quite an experience that evening when a big thunderstorm held us inside. It was rolling around for three hours. Amazing to stay in this solid house and hear this.
