Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The location and chateau are absolutely beautiful. We stayed in one of the suites in the annex building which had a balcony with a lovely view of the chateau. It's well located to drive to other parts of the Gorges du Tarn.

AustraliaOne only complaint, the music at dinner was awful, some computer generated sounds and always the same. Must get a better playlist.
The castle , the rooms, the food was excellent. The staff very good and friendly. Always wanted to stay in a castle once in my life and this one did not disappoint. You have to have the dinner experience, so so good. The breakfast was also very good and buffet style. It was raining and even we still had a wonderful time.

New ZealandThe bed was too short and like all french beds hard and uncomfortable. We had to ask for milk for our room (milk supplied was a sachet of condensed milk!!). Which was provided on request no problem. Door to toilet and bathroom caught on floor and was difficult to open.
The location, the staff and the chataeu were all lovely. Could not fault staff at all very helpful and courteous.

Wow what an amazing experience to stay in this ancient castle - we will never forget dining on the terrace (wonderful food) and looking out across the gorge. Our room was much more spacious and beautifully appointed than the photos showed.

United StatesStone walls do not allow internet in your room. Simply go downstairs and enjoy the castle. This is not a big deal if you know it.
I have stayed here before. I will return again. It is nice to live in historic castle for a day or more. The building is simply extraordinary. It is a "must see"

AustraliaNo lifts to assist with luggage. Our room was two levels up. The first two levels were covered with carpet but the last flight were stone steps. I would have liked the Chateau to be closer to Sainte-Enimie as the address implied.
The location on the Route des Gorges du Tarn was fantastic but circa 15km from the township of Sainte-Enimie. The Chateau was amazing in architecture and ambience. Looked and felt like a true 1600’s building. The restaurant cuisine was exceptional offering a fabulous dining experience out on the terrace. Parking for car fabulous.

FranceThe beautiful river is unfortunately few visible from the gardens. Our room didn't have any particular castle atmosphere inside (except for furniture), but it was an entry-level room.
The room was cozy, the castle is beautiful with nice garden and lown. Good communication with staff, they are very helpful. Nice swimming pool.

United KingdomNothing to say here.
We stayed here for my wife's birthday whilst we touring on our motorbike and it was a surprise stay for her. She loved it, and we both enjoyed the setting next to the Tarn river, the building itself, the friendliness of all the staff and how helpful they were. The room we had was spacious, well equipped, clean ad a wonderful view of the gardens, the River and the Gorge. It really was a fabulous stay.

AustraliaNothing.
The location of this chateau is nothing short of spectacular. The backdrop of sheer rock, the singing of the birds, the fresh air and the rippling of the Tarn river provided a very special stay. We enjoyed a swim in the pool after a long drive and the meal on the terrace was outstanding. I could not rate this more highly.
