Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

LuxembourgJust sorry for the weather so we could not really appreciate the property
Very nice place to stay when visiting the region. Castle is being renovated with taste and is very clean. Staff friendly and professional. Breakfast is good. Environment is nice and well maintained. The restaurant is excellent so we can congratulate the chef who is also the owner together with his wife.

United KingdomIt seemed that every guest had a dog. They were in the corridors, lounge, bar and restaurant. As well as outside. They were frequently barking and a disturbance.
The setting of the building is spectacular. The long tree lined drive leads round the Chateau to the entrance. It is set in wonderful grounds where animals wander. Inside the building has high ceilings, historic features and is very comfortable. The service in the bar and restaurant were superb and the food lovely.

BelgiumSome points that may be useful for future guests: - There are 2 young dogs walking around freely on the property. They jump on you and for example bite your towel to play. Certainly not for people with a fear of dogs. - When taking a shower, our bathroom flooded, so the next times we had to build a dam with the available towels to hold back the water. -The WiFi did not work well, for example: images do not load, videos cannot be played, ... for this you have to switch to your 4G. - Don't expect a perfectly finished chateau. For us this is not important and even has its charm. - When we read that the hotel was run by a family, we expected a very warm, personal vibe. However, the atmosphere is cool and distant, as you would expect from a hotel chain. This is not a problem for us, just not what we thought. During breakfast (during permitted hours), breakfast was sometimes no longer refilled or even taken away while you were still having breakfast. When checking out, the owner passed right next to us without saying a word. At times like this you can really make a difference with a friendly gesture.
Beautiful chateau, always pleasant to arrive in such a calm, green landscape. Sufficient choice at breakfast.

United KingdomThere was no food on a Sunday night, which we were aware of. Not a problem, as we had been told this in advance, but we could have taken a picnic or snacks and eaten on site. But we didn't know this until we got there
A lovely quiet location just outside the city. The Chateau is a beautiful building, which has been recently restored. Wonderful en suite and shower, plus amazingly comfortable beds. The staff were incredibly friendly too. Really lovely breakfast to finish things off.

United KingdomWe would love to have left a better review because the owners should be encouraged for saving this beautiful building, but the hotel is not really ready for staying guests from both physical and management perspectives. Our room was on the top floor at the back and the corridor and room smelled of cheap paint which was really unpleasant. Other than paint and wallpaper it was not decorated at all. For this reason we left the window open all night and were woken by the garbage collection and delivery vehicles arriving early in the morning. Although I am not a very tall person, I hit my head on the sloped attic ceiling getting out of bed. The room comes with a cheap and sofabed pushed into a small nook, but it was not a comfortable seat and I do not know how you would use it as a bed in the small space. The bathroom was a design and operational disaster. The water in the shower never got hot. The door did not close. The toilet roll holder was on the wrong side so that every time you pulled the paper, the roll would fly off onto the floor. I stubbed my toe on the metal doorstop set right by the toilet (see photo). There was a glass bottle of drinking water, but it was not replenished when the room was serviced on our second day so we had to walk down two flights of stairs to get water. The towels were not clean, having mascara marks on them (not ours), and obviously had not been checked. There was no fridge in the room, but the reception helped us to store some picnic items in the kitchen. There was also no kettle so again it was a long journey to the bar to get boiling water. The WiFi was so slow as to be basically unusable and my iPhone said it had no safety certificate, which is something I have never encountered before in a hotel. So this hotel has a lot of potential, but it is not there yet.
This delightful 12 room chateau is set on a hill in generous and peaceful grounds with a horse and chickens (dogs on a leash are welcome) about 15 minutes drive from the center of Tours. It has been a hotel for a long time, but the current owners, a young couple with three small children, have modernized the rooms and installed aircon. The bed was comfortable. There was a young energetic French speaking American woman on reception who was so helpful to us booking a good restaurant for dinner the day we arrived, but unfortunately we never saw her again. Other staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was simple but good and the coffee was made in a proper espresso machine.

United KingdomIt feels unfair to be overly critical. The hotel has recently reopened and is still trying things out, while actively seeking feedback from guests as to what works and what doesn't. So, for example, we would have used the restaurant more if there had been more choice of lighter options for dinner. But the food was good and it was no hardship to explore other options in nearby Tours.
We loved the huge, airy room and the hotel's setting in extensive, peaceful grounds as well as the friendly staff and relaxed ambience. The building is exceptional, but also a work in progress, which will only get better. The hotel has recently reopened after extensive and thoughtful renovation work providing, for example, modern bathroom facilities and discreet air-conditioning/heating, while preserving the feel of the original architecture and decoration. Not of interest to us, but clearly very popular with many fellow guests, the hotel is very welcoming to guests with pets. Our stay was very good value for money.

United KingdomReall nothing to complain about during my stay.
This is a lovely find, in a truly beautiful setting. The hotel is in a wonderful chateau, not far from Tours, but far enough to make it a very peaceful and relaxing stay. My room was spotlessly clean, as was the rest of the property. After a recent and extensive restoration, the rooms are comfortable, and the bathrooms are modern and spacious. The view from my room (George) looked over the local countryside, and some of the grounds. The Owners are very accommodating, and having done the restoration themselves, have a great deal of knowledge about the building. The staff were very polite and knowledgeable. I had dinner in the hotel, which was excellent, and less expensive than many on this trip, despite being among the best prepared. Service was great. If driving/riding, parking is secure, this would be a great place to stay whilst exploring local attractions. Will definitely stay again.

The place is beautiful! From the outside garden and the look of the house, to the general decoration of all rooms and the wonderful wooden staircase. We had a very nice room with the bedroom separated in one of the buildings towers. The Lady that owns the place and does the reception is very friendly and liked to show and explain the house to us.
