Sadly we detected a different vibe on this visit, maybe because of the addition of a Michelin restaurant. We gave those up years ago. The desk staff and general hotel staff are still wonderful but the servers etc not so much. The rooms are the same, a little faded but OK. Breakfast is expensive and nowhere near the old standards. Our evening cocktails were served as badly as any we've ever experienced, weak in incorrect glasses and no table napkin by a server clearly grumpy for disturbing her from the staff dinner ... which is taken in plain sight every night at drinks time. The hotel also runs the bistro in town which has always been a meal to look forward to. That too has declined alarmingly. One gets the impression that the whole thing is now owned by a conglomerate keen to cut costs. Not a hotel but a restaurant with rooms.

We have stayed her several times in the past few years. Our go-to place for a stop over. It's charming, not over-the-top luxurious and peaceful.

We love this place and its location and have been coming for many years en route to Geneva. Staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming. It used to feel like a family hotel, managed with love and care. We like what used to be the very small and quirky bargain attic bedrooms- they have increased nearly 200% in the last 10 years, that way exceeds inflation and is no longer value for money. Half the wardrobe with hanging space couldn’t be accessed, the door knob was missing and the door was stuck. The bed linen was basic and unexceptional The complimentary tea and coffee was meagre and no milk supplied. The bed was firm and no mattress topper supplied and one pillow was lumpy. The air con could not be adjusted. The shampoo and liquid soap had been stuck to the wall at shower height so could not be accessed from the bath level and there was no conditioner as previously. Breakfast has significantly increased in price but not in value and the bread was not fresh (Sunday). We were charged for bottled water at dinner we did have. (This was adjusted on checking)

The welcome. The garden and location and ambience. We used to love the care and attention of the family owners

Most staff excellent but confusion over when the various restaurants were open or closed was irritating and could have been improved if the staff all had the same information.

Apart from one member of staff everyone was lovely. We arrived to be told nothing was available to eat not even in the village. One member of staff came to the rescue. Hopefully they sort out some issues as it’s a lovely place in a gorgeous village.

I suggest that if you have a big family group with lots of children, you let them celebrate in a separate room away from the other fine dining guests. The wine selection was not up to par, and there was no good pairing option for the excellent food.

The park grounds are beautiful and maintained in superb condition. The Villa as well. the terrace is gorgeous, and it was a pleasure to have drinks, eat a meal, and relax on the property any time of day.

Only problem was our trip was too short!

THe Chateau is a beautiful building with a great ambience. We ate at the associated Bistrot which was very good. The breakfast was a great mix of usual items and some interesting local produce. The weather was even good enough to eat on the outside terrace. The lounge with fireplace was a highlight. We enjoyed glasses of wine on the couch and read our books

Everything was pretty spot-on although it should be noted that there is no lift.

Great location en route to the Swiss Alps. Charming manor-house- style chateau in a pretty village in the Jura. Public rooms were beautifully decorated and the roaring log fire made it especially cosy for an early evening aperitif. Our first floor room was very tastefully furnished and was equipped with all the requisite facilities including tea-making and coffee machine. There is a Michelin restaurant in the hotel but it was closed that day so we ate in the sister Bistrot, 5 minutes walk away. The food was delicious with professional, friendly service and there was quite a buzzy atmosphere for à Monday. We did not take breakfast so cannot comment although it seemed to be a little expensive.

I found the slimy feel of the bottom and sides of the pool a little off-putting but accept this may be due to the natural water. Unfortunately we found that 3 of the courses of our tasting menu were too strong and texturally unpleasant.

The room was lovely and very comfortable. The welcome and the service in the restaurant and reception was outstanding. The gardens and grounds were beautiful. We loved the first 4 courses of our tasting menu, they were delicious and innovative.
