Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandSmall room on the second floor. Double bed. Plastic backed, non breathable bottom sheet puckered and was generally uncomfortable. Shower was small with a hand held (no bracket to hang it from and there was only a shower curtain. Breakfast appeared to be only a croissant, a roll and coffee from an urn for 5 euro. We did not bother as my wife is gluten intolerant. We arrived around 2pm and found no one there. Check in was unusual, being done purely by phone in reception and finding the key hanging on the wall.
The location was superb being an easy walk to the Sanctuary and restaurants. Free parking outside the hotel. The hotel had a lift m . It had a dining room. Breakfast was available.

MalaysiaNo one was around when I arrived at around 645pm. Rang the bell few times still no one came. I informed the host about my arrival by train by email few days before. Some instructions in French only on the reception counter. Eventually I used the phone and host just gave instructions where to collect room key. Did not see her till following morning.
Quick 6 minutes walk from Lourdes Train Station. About 10 minutes walk to the Sanctuary. Room was compact and there was an elevator. Small electric heater too. There was a tv which I did not use. An electric kettle would have been more useful.

CyprusIt is not close to the sanctuary as it is mentioned. Around 16 mins walking to the main gate of the sanctuary in the front. So if you are staying for more than one night and you need to go and come back several times to the hotel to rest during the day, it is far and not comfortable. The mattress is not comfortable and it kept on sliding to one side all night. The communication in English was a little bit difficult. It has no tissues or water in the room. But this is maybe because of the very much affordable price of the room…
The staff are friendly. It is a cozy place and it is a good value for money. Near the city centre and restaurants. There is always hot water for shower and the room is always warm in cold weather. The cleaner comes on daily basis to clean up the room.

GermanyUnfortunately, the heater wasn't warm enough. The newly washed pillows they had on the bed hadn't even dried. The terrace outside my room was quite messy. I wish there was more privacy to the room from the terrace than a transparent door and a flimsy curtain. The keyhole is too close to the doorframe and sometimes it was difficult to turn the keys to open/close the door. Leaving the keys on the wall near the reception did not feel safe as anyone could access the room. All of this could be overlooked. The incident that completely changed my experience was when they had moved my personal belongings on the day of the checkout when I was out. They didn't specify a checkout time and the website says it could be as late as 10pm in the night. They tell me later when I come back to the hotel at 3.45pm that my things were in the reception (which was unattended!) because the checkout time was at 11.30am. Would they have taken responsibility if my belongings were missing or damaged? I doubt it.
Spacious room and bathroom. It was neat and clean. Had sanitary products such as soap and shower gel. They had plenty of towels and a hair dryer. Best part for me was the availability of cloth lines to dry clothes on the terrace. The mentioned distance to the sanctuary is actually to the very front of it, and not the Basilica. However, I still thought the distance was manageable. There was plenty of space to keep your belongings (a cupboard with hooks to hang clothes, 2 foldable chairs, 1 metal chair and a table along with a mirror) and there were dustbins; in short, the room was very convenient to a traveller. Bonus: they even had a TV. The staff was friendly but I hope they take care not to be loud and disturb the guests. It was difficult to communicate with them due to the language barrier. However, I must say they attended to the most minute repairs. It was inconvenient to my schedule sometimes but they did their job well. Was fully prepared to give the room a 10 if it wasn't for one unpleasant experience.

United KingdomIt says parking but no Hotel car park just a free for all Layby opposite and parking in town or down the road but in peak season that would be a problem with Lourdes. Despite saying they can speak languages they couldn't, they use Google translate which helps abit and helps with some confusion and I can't either. It appears that there is nobody there at night but can't confirm that is the case and may not be a legal requirement in France..They also said I didn't have 2 nights despite it clearly showing on My Booking.com App that I had 2 nights but they were ok about it and rectified it
Cleaned Rooms everyday if you wanted it done Good lift.Everything was clean lifts carpets decor beds. And for the money was just about ok.

United KingdomHad a small room despite many larger being available, but it was fine. A little hard to find but I was tired, didn't know Lourdes beyond the station before and a shopkeeper showed me the way. 4 Euro's more than advertised but I'm clutching at straws. I came from rural mountain gites, the hotel was fine and clean with a relaxed vibe. I didn't want or need over ostentation.
I seemed to be the only guest,(out of season), liked the balcony and the suspended whicker chair, easy access to the Grotte and station, nice hand painted warm nature murals on the the walls, friendly house dog, shopping bike in the entry living room and french TV in the rooms. Perfect way to end or begin a mountain holiday. Warm and non sterile vibe. Nice room touches and clean, and effective shower.Early flight so didn't have breakfast, dinner wasn't included so eat outside.

United KingdomLocation: If you're walking from the train station, it's only 15 min walk down hill towards the town, arriving at the viaduct bridge, descend to the lower street level. It is a perfect location to be in, as again, only 15 mins to Lourdes Pilgrimage site. On arrival, I was met by the owner who explained about keys, breakfast and door entry system. The whole property has a very eclectic retro feel, yet warm and welcoming. Basic toilet/shower with towels provided. For the price, it more than met any expectations - breakfast was (is) a croissant, slice of baguette a portion of jam and coffee. Very little street noise
