Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

FranceI wish I could put higher rate to this property however it is impossible due to several factors: 1. Noisy. The walls are very thin, you can hear what your neighbours are doing. On Sunday morning cleaning ladies started to clean another rooms at 8am, they were banging and making loud noises, was impossible to sleep. 2.We stayed at Superior Room, and it is really tiny (even for 2 skinny people) and needs to finish renovation as there are many details which are not finished. Bathroom is good though: clean, new and well organised. Be ready for heat in summer as there is no aircon (but it’s kind of «normal » for France and chateau hotel) 3. During stay we ate at the restaurant and had drinks, and paid bill at once, however upon check out the staff told that we still need to pay for dinner & aperitif, what was quite confusing.
Amazing property! Calm, peaceful, very beautiful - perfect to get away from Paris (or another big city). Staying at the castle is a very special experience - it’s nothing compared to staying at the hotel. Good for people who miss nature and look for tranquility. Restaurant was amazing! We go to restaurants in Paris very often, and this one is worth it more than 100%. Food is excellent - natural products, original recipes and super attentive staff. Absolutely loved this restaurant and maybe will come back just to eat one day.

United KingdomThe hotel has been undergoing major refurbishment for many months. The first room we were shown had the character of a building site and was extremely disappointing for a 250 euro a night price. The General Manager Mark allowed us to stay in one of the hotel's best suites which was extremely pleasant. He also gave my wife a complementary dinner at the hotel as compensation for our initial disillusionment. He was very professional and kind in turning the situation around for us.
My wife and I were initially very disappointed with the hotel, but the General Manager Mark solved our problem.

United KingdomLovely chateau and a great area, very quiet and not many guests. Restaurant was closed when we stayed which was a pity. We asked for the board of cold meals etc but were told it had to be made in advance. We had a lovely meal in the local restaurant and the staff there were great. Pity the chateau didn't have more going on and better communication. Its a lovely place but tired in places .

NetherlandsThat you cannot take a stroll all around the lake. We tried, but had to take the same way back in the end.
Impressive how they have conserved this place over so many centuries. Sober and with lots of charm. Very nice athmosphere. View from the wide window in which you could sit. Real waterglasses in your room. Fine food in the stylish restaurant, especially after a walkl in the parc.

United StatesThe staff was very attentive and kind. I arrived 3 hours early for check exhausted from a transatlantic flight. They offered me coffee and tea and made a room available for me well ahead of check in. Breakfast was amazing, with honey collected from their own beehives, tasting of the intoxicating aromas of the morning’s walk. Most foods were either made in house or from local artisans and cultivators. The space was tranquil and the views incredible. It’s a highly recommended stay, especially Fridays and Saturdays when their chefs prepare dinner with hyper local items on the menu.

SingaporeIt didn't bother me, but there is no air conditioning (old castle), so some guests complain and needed multiple fans. I suppose it very depends which season you are visiting the area and at what temperature is considered comfortable (eg. for some travelers, t-shirt weather is 12 degrees, for others from south-east asia, comfortable will be 22 degrees or so. In terms of the furniture and room condition, indeed somewhat dated, but it is always be a dilemma how to and how much to renovate while retaining the feel and soul of a real castle. So, I actually empathize reception staff who have to deal with complaints on lack of air conditioning or facilities...
The surroundings of this old castle is beautiful and romantic. You can also choose to row a boat out and the scenery is astounding. The premises is great for a walk with ducks roaming. There is ample free parking at the entry gate, you can drive by the reception to drop off luggage, and park back at the gate. The gate helps to keep the property private. Elevator available too, so no issues for heavy luggage. Didn't eat at the restaurants within the chateau so I cannot comment. Just outside the gate of the chateau, had really delicious meals. For myself who values ambience and surroundings, the stay was for me a very good experience and a nice romantic closure to my 17-day France trip.

United StatesRoom and bathroom was quite small for the cost. We stayed in several other Chateaus on this trip and all the others, our room and bathroom was much larger, for much cheaper. Very few toiletries, compared to other Chateau’s (that cost less).
Beautiful property. Good secure parking. Lovely moat. Enjoyed using one of the row boats to row around the moat and small lake. About a 30 minute drive from CDG airport. Nice walking trail.
