Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe room was very tiny and would probably suit a solo traveler or someone seeking a room for one night. Coffee machine in room but no refrigerator or milk provided
The hotel is conveniently located, clean and comfortable for a short stay. Well connected to major attractions as the Metro stations are close by. Breakfast included which was adequate to start the day.

AustraliaEven with an upgrade our room was tiny and if you’re taller than 170cm you’ll probably find the bathrooms pretty small.
Quite clean and comfortable. Close to the metro. Breakfast included was appreciated. Bed was comfortable. Good for a short stay when you’re mainly out sightseeing.

ColombiaThe elevator is a bit small, so better take the stairs if you're claustrophobic. (Although I guess it was average for Paris standards). The room was a bit small, with one side of the bed against the wall.
The room was in great condition, everything was clean and definitely felt like a "hotel", if you know what I mean: they even had toiletries, which now days is a rare experience. The staff was super kind, in a good location, close to the train station.

ItalyThe room a little small, the moquette (but this is everywhere in Paris and in Europe)
The kindness of the staff was great, the room was very clean, as the same the bathroom, that was big enough. The bed very comfortable and the position near the city centre, with a metro stop near the hotel

IsraelThe first room given us (33) had strong mildew and no air circulation due to a wall block. The view was of the wall next to us. Fortunately, they gave us a much better room after our first night. There the bed was a double, not a queen bed as they claimed. The elevator was the tightest - certainly not for big people or any claustrophobic. Very early one morning, a toaster in the kitchen caused a shrill alarm which took them over 20 minutes to turn off. (at least they apologized). Beware that we had to pay another 10 euro per night for the city tax.
Very good location. We walked to nearly everything. Two blocks away from tons of restaurants, very active evening scene. The Breakfast was very good. Great granola, great coffee, croissants, cheese. Very good helpful staff. Good shower. Coffee maker. TV.

AustraliaThe first room we were given had no view and was tiny. We were moved to a larger room the next day. Both rooms are the same price so perhaps mention this when booking.

Polandthere was one lady at the reception, tall with short hair, a bit older than the rest who was not nice to the rest of the staff as we could hear at the breakfast....everyone else, especially cleaning ladies and the ones preparing breakfast absolutely amazing.
Bigger rooms than Paris standard, there is a tiny elevator so you will not struggle to get your luggage to 3rd or 4th floor. Excellent location, very quiet and very good breakfast comparing to Paris standard :)

CanadaThe room was very, very small. The bed is against the wall on one side, and on the other side, only one person can fit to enter the bathroom. The bathroom is immediately next to the head of the bed, and there is only about a foot distance between the toilet and the door. We found hair on the bed when we arrived, and the blanket on the foot of the bed does not seem to get washed. The city taxes we paid at arrival were much higher than what was stated in our reservation. It went from 15 euro to 43 euro, apparently due to an increase that occurred after we booked our hotel. Guests are asked to leave their room key at the front desk every time they leave 'due to security reasons'. While we found this strange, it wasn't a big hurdle as there is always someone around.but
Staff was very friendly and there was always someone available. The hotel is located a 6-minute walk from the metro and bus station. Our coffee was replenished every day, and it was nice having a Nespresso machine in the room. Also, there are many great restaurants, bars, and businesses around to choose from.

United StatesThe size of the bathroom was tiny with a funny odor coming out of the sewage at times. I only had housekeeping once in the 6 nights I stayed there, and the door to the room had only one lock with no extra security which made me a bit paranoid at night as a solo female traveler.
The location is great, with easy access to the metro, lots of shops, restaurants, and local bars around the area. The hotel staff was so kind and great, the bed/bedding was super comfortable (no bedbugs on site), and the shower pressure with hot water was always available! They even give you two pairs of slippers, one for the shower and one to lounge around which I thought was very nice.

United StatesThe process for "reserving" the sauna/massage room is convoluted - it would be better to just have a sign-up sheet at the front desk instead of just verbally communicating it to the concierge.
The rooms and interior in general were comfortable and had a relaxed vibe. We didn't have the breakfast, but it looked really inviting (consider getting it because there aren't tons of places to eat nearby aside from the obligatory bistro and boulangerie). The sauna and massage bed were added bonuses, but I'd still review Atmospheres highly without them.

United KingdomThe room was a bit too cold for my liking no matter how high I turned the A/C up. Not horrifically cold but could've been warmer. Hotel looks a bit outdated, the lift especially could use with a refurbish. Nothing major though. The stairs to get to my bathroom in my room were super scary to climb! Took a while to get used to
The bed was comfortable and the shower was lovely and hot. The breakfast was nice and good coffee! The room was also super clean which was really nice.

Good place for a short stay. Big choice of food places around. Metro station just 3 minutes by walking so it's easy to get in every part of the city. Generally quiet and safe area. Personel was always very kind and friendly, there was no problem with English communication. I could left my luggage without any problem. My room was cleaned every day.

United KingdomThe bathroom was slightly cramped, and the shower did have a tendency to fluctuate in temperature. I was surprised to learn that the Paris city tax, which was originally quoted at 1.88 Euro's per person per night on my booking.com app was actually significantly higher at 5.20 Euro's each when I was asked to pay at reception. There should not have been any ambiguity, and the correct cost up front would have been appreciated. It was not possible to view international channels, which wasn't helpful if your language skills in French were limited.
The location was not too far from the centre of Paris, with good access to the Metro. The breakfast was good for a continental breakfast.
