Poor value breakfast and very little sign of staff in dining room. Whilst the room was fabulous with very comfortable bed, the hotel lacked a certain “buzz” in public areas. Our check in girl was very young and had not been fully trained and struggled somewhat even though we spoke French, she had to keep asking for help from a colleague.

Great position in middle of town and very quiet . Free parking in the square right in front of the dramatic main entrance. Well executed refurbishment of all internal areas.

Bedding too thick, this is a common issue. Some stairs at the entrance, there might be another way in , not obvious.

Stayed on hottest April day and we’re told that aircon doesn’t get switched on till 1st May! When I complained about heat of bedroom was told to open the window??

In the bedroom, the automatic lights in the toilet were very bright at night and lit up the room when the door was opened. This is disturbing for partners and I could find no way to either lower the light level or switch off the automatic light. In the restaurant the staff were welcoming and polite, but service was very slow and the dish we ate (fish) was extremely salty. Servings were rather small and not good value for the cost. At breakfast the staff were likewise very pleasant and polite, but rather slow. Upon entering the breakfast room no member of staff welcomed us or asked what we would like to drink. The option of a pot of coffee did not exist and it took three tries to get a large white coffee. I suspect staff training needs to be improved and some systems need to be revised (providing the option of a pot of coffee plus a jug of hot milk).

Beautiful old building with a tasteful update for the 21st Century. Staff were welcoming and cheerful, and extremely helpful. Easy, free parking.

The tired scrambled egg. The potential difficulty of parking: we were okay because one of the reception staff moved her car for us, but without that I’ve no idea where we could have parked.

Breakfast had a good choice, but the scrambled was very tired by the time we got to it.

A rather mediocre dinner on the Saturday night. The dessert in particular was inedible.

The is a very comfortable and elegant hotel conveniently located. There is a lovely terrace at the front. Excellent breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in a grand setting right in the heart of Loches. Staff were all very helpful and obliging. Air conditioning system was excellent and appreciated as it was 35 degrees each day for four days. Lovely pool area.

Lovely hotel and perfect location. parking at certain times of the day could be difficult and if you have an electric vehicle there only two pumps which some people abuse by leaving their vehicle there after charging and some people park other cars in the spots. Hotel staff were very friendly, nice swimming pool. Food was overpriced though!
