Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThere is no soap in the bathrooms. In a bathroom with multiple people I just think it's sensible to enable people to wash their hands after using the toilet. Also tiled floors are nearly impossible for the cleaner to, well, clean... so the bathroom floors are gungy. There are no curtains on the bunks and it's worth noting the lockers (drawers) have no keys - you can't lock them at all.
This is a modern hostel with various shared spaces, an fabulous balcony overlooking the old bridge, a great little kitchen along with a really rather superb breakfast included! The staff were extremely kind and helpful.

United KingdomThe modern building feels a bit soulless. The fittings in the room could be better designed, e.g. extra storage space under the bed, more hooks / shelves in the en suite wet room etc.
The person on duty was very helpful when my train was late and I was worried about missing the deadline for checking in - thanks for reassuring me :) The rooftop bar and terrace is lovely and my room was spacious. The map of the pilgrimage routes to Santiago de Compostela was interesting (in the pilgrims' area on the ?first floor).

CanadaThe beds were hard. No soap in the bathrooms and you have to pay for towels. You can store luggage but it was hard to find the staff during the daytime hours when the hostel was closed to guests.
The breakfast was great and included in the price. .View of the bridge from the third floor kitchen/ lounge was really good. Very quiet hostel, close to train station

IsraelKitchen was no equipped with kettle to cook some hot water. the room was a with 2 twin beds a bit small but ok. No signs from the train station with directions to the YH.
Location was very good as we traveled by train. About 15 minutes walt from train station with luggage. Breakfast was good, not much variety but ok. Location is wonderful maybe the best in Cahors overlooking the famous bridge. The staff was very nice and helpful with all our needs. Thanks to Jerom at the the reception for easy and swift check in and all the info he gave us. I will certainly recommend this place to others and may stay again if we find the opportunity.

United KingdomNo air con ( though not expected either in a youth hostel), glad we had brought a fan in the heat of early August.
Location is excellent. Rooms are basic (expected) but clean, good wet room, powerful shower and constant hot water. Roof terrace bar very good. Really good breakfast.

NetherlandsNo airco (we knew this beforehand), therefore, the room was really hot (outside temperature was high too 35°). The bathroom/toilet had no lock and automatic light, which was a bit much during nightly visits.
Close to town centre and from the roof terras great view of the historical bridge. Parking at a fee was great. Breakfast was reasonably good.

FranceNothing really...it's no-frills, you have to put your own duvet on, then place it in laundry next day, but for the price, it's worth it!
We are a couple in our 60s and we had a private ensuite bedroom with great shower (fresh bedding is provided). A generous buffet breakfast is included in the price (€53) and it was served in the amazing roof-top bar & terrace which overlooks the ancient bridge. Would definitely recommend this Auberge de Jeunesse for a short break in Cahors - whatever age you are!

Germany- parking at extra costs (paid parking available nearby) - shower area doesn’t look clean. Tiles and grouting where blackish (probably because of aggressive cleaning) - too early check out - they require you to remove and drop off duvets and lines yourselves. That should be mentioned in the advert I’m general: would go there again
- location - outstanding roof top - gaming area for free (billiard, table soccer) - breakfast included - simple and functional
