Everything! This is one of our favorite stays during our two week tour of Normandy and the Loire Valley. Unfortunately I can't share pictures because of the host's strict ban on photography. But this place was gorgeous, straight out of a design magazine. Bed was comfortable, bathroom amazing, everything meticulously clean and spacious. View of the chateau from our room and ideal location with easy walkability to the chateau, wine caves, and adorable old town. Best breakfast we had during our entire trip to France. Many cafes nearby- highly recommend Les Saveurs d'Italie- literally the best pasta I've ever had. Host was very kind. There are two parking spots available but we were scared of the narrow cobblestone streets so we parked on street nearby. Also extremely affordable.

A beautiful and meticulously restored building steeped in history ( C13/14/15) with its stone/wooden spiral staircase. We had a tastefully appointed and spacious bedroom with a quality bathroom. Situated beneath the chateau in a semi-pedestrianised area (garage space available on request) Hosted by a charming. humorous and totally dedicated dynamo who is passionate about his role. Maurice could not have been more welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is all home produced (apart from the bread) and to describe it as sumptuous would be a total understatement. A jewel of a stay. We liked everything about this property. The rooms were excellent, the location was excellent, the bathroom facilities were excellent, the parking was very close and safe and this place had one of the best breakfast’s that we have encountered in our decades of travel. Above all of that Maurice was so helpful and accommodating. We highly recommend this property.

It was all perfect.

The rooms were beautiful and stylish and looked after with great attention. We felt spoilt and an honesty bar just outside the room with wine glasses provided added to the indulgence. Breakfast was in a charming room with huge choice. We had a front door key, umbrellas to borrow and our host even carried my bag to the car.

Nothing to dislike, it’s perfect!

I am not sure where to start as every aspect of our stay was absolutely delightful! Chinon is the most gorgeous town and Le Relais Maurice is a little gem ideally situated below the fortress. Our host was so nice, so attentive and helpful with a fantastic sense of humour. Breakfast was delicious, lots of different dishes to sample, homemade jams and croissants, freshly made pancakes, various cakes and cooked breakfast, an amazing selection. The room was beautiful and spacious, the bed extremely comfy, the property immaculately clean, fantastic!

All was good.

Breakfast was excellent. The host was always busy making rounds and making sure everyone is taken care of. We had a comfortable stay. Bathroom was large and beautiful. Bedding was super comfy. We did reserve a parking space and husband luckily was able back into the garage with ease. Once parked, the car stays in til next day after 8am. Most restaurants are few steps away and very walkable. At breakfast, we saw a sheet of paper explaining the history of the house. It was a nice touch.

Second stay in a wonderful Chambers D'Hotes in Chinon. One of my favourite nights away! The house is beautiful, the bedrooms are cosy and comfortable, and the breakfast is amazing.
