Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandThe stairs. Oh boy, at 67, they were a challenge going up, but okay, coming down. The potential free parking was impossible to find before 6.30 pm - not the host's fault. Upon arrival, we spent over an hour looking for a free park and paid street parking in the end. After research, we found free parking by the Loire by one of the bridges.
This apartment had everything you needed. The host even included ground coffee and salt & pepper. The bed was comfortable, albeit against the wall on one side. There was plenty of room and a comfortable lounge. The view from the balcony was stunning - left to the Chateau and right to the Cathedral. A supermarket is close by and there are plenty of eating places if you did not wish to cook for yourself. Thank you Lydie for your clear communication on the keys.

AustraliaThe stairs were hard to negotiate, however given the age of the building it was understandable so it's not for those with mobility issues.
Absolutely charming little apartment. Just about everything needed was supplied. Close hand for a stroll along the water and the nearby restaurants. Only about a 10min walk to the local train station.

United KingdomNot a criticism but would loved to have known the history of the building. Looks like it could have been a family home hundreds of years ago!
Such a quirky old building, apartment maintained to a high standard but keeping a lot of the original floors and walls! Very well equipped.

PortugalWe liked the location near the pedestrian boulevard, the parking lot is across the street but you have to add time/money 2h at a time to get the best rate, then it is free at night. The place was very clean and organized, we had no issues with our stay.

CanadaThis was NOT an issue for us but the staircase to the apartment was narrow and steep and could an issue for those with mobility problems or with big luggage.
Location was superb. Well appointed for a bit of meal preparation. Overall very comfortable. We loved seeing the walls and ceiling that revealed a traditional building style.

United KingdomNothing, but be careful walking up the stairs - they are quite tight and ancient so not great when I was trying to carry all our luggage at once!!!
Loved this place. The photos don't do it justice. It's been well equipped and well planned out for a comfortable stay. We loved having breakfast with the balcony doors open with views of the Chateau. The location is great with the old town and attractions outside, a car park opposite and a Carrefour 7 minutes away. We also loved that check-in is quite early and check-out quite late compared to many places giving you longer to enjoy the place.

AustraliaAbsolutely nothing!
This apartment was in a great location in the cathedral quarter, about 10 mins walk from the train station, and about 5 mins walk from the Latin quarter or old part of the city. Both areas have some fabulous dining options at great prices. Our host, Lydie, was very kind and prompt to communicate with us and very helpful. Appartement Deux Pieces was absolutely brilliant! It far exceeded our expectations. It was clean and spacious, well-equipped and tastefully decorated. The bathroom was well-stocked and the bed was very comfortable. It was the best accommodation we’ve had on our whole trip. We would definitely stay here if we ever return to this wonderful city. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and wish we could have stayed longer.

AustraliaWe loved our stay at the property and would stay there again if in Tours. The bed was a little harder than how I enjoy it, which for more than 2-3 nights may have posed a challenge, but for 1-2 nights it was great. The bedroom is at the back of the property away from the street noise and night club down the road. Perfect for a good nights sleep. The property also does not have any washing facilities however there is a laundrette around the corner (50m) away.
The property is very very well located in the Cathedral quarter with easy walking access to the city, the old town, cafes, restaurants, bars, supermarket and laundrette. The property has double glazing so nice and quiet and easy parking across the road for those driving.

RomaniaSpiral stairs very tight and difficult to handle luggage up and down. The apartment is located in an old building.
Perfect location in the old city center, near the City Cathedral and the Chateau. I liked a lot the roses in the vase from the living room. The apartment is located right next to the main street with plenty of restaurants and shops. There is a large parking lot across the street, free between 6 PM - 9AM while during the day it is 1.30 -1.50 Euro per hour. Also, there is a free parking lot near the river, approx 500 m from the apartment. This is a small, cozy and 'tres charmant' apartment with everything you need.
