Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

EstoniaThe elevator was small and we were supposed to give our room key away every time we left the hotel. It was just a different system I guess.
The location was excellent, the rooms were nice and clean, the staff was friendly.

NigeriaThe Breakfast, the breakfast was very bare. It's not a buffet style breakfast, the pastries served were miserly and the breakfast room was very tight, with uncomfortable sitting arrangements! This aspect needs serious improvement.
The Location. Angleterre is located very near the Barbes Rouchechart Metro Station. As such, it is very easy to locate. It's a small hotel, but it's kept very clean and the Staff, especially Salim, were excellent and helpful! And the coffee they served was excellent!

ChileThe room was a little warm even during the night, it has a fan but wasn't enough. We had troubles one day arriving late to the hotel, having to wait outside for around 10 minutes with no answers
The room was clean and organized, it has access to a little balcony to look outside. The bathroom was modern, clean and pretty functional. The room service went daily, to tend the bed and change the towels

United KingdomBooked two rooms the same and one was significantly bigger and more comfortable than the other. The small room was definitely smaller than 12m2 , virtually no room for case and no wardrobe just a rail across the corner of room with 3 (4 would be too many!) coat hangers. We asked for extra pillow and response was bordering on surly, in the end showed us store room to prove that the hotel only had 1 pillow per bed!!! Gave up but ridiculous that this is the case given price of room. Should have read some of the reviews better. What is the point of people leaving reviews for the property if they just ignore. How many people have commented about a small kettle, why wouldn't you just go out and buy a load of kettles for the rooms and reduce the complaints?? Top tip for management go out and buy some kettles, some cups, more coat hangers and some extra pillows and more people will love your hotel xx
So the location is really good if travelling in from Gare du Nord, walking about 15-20 mins, 5-10 mins by metro. Means Paris is very accessible by the metro, close to Sacre Coeur and local restaurants, about 10 mins. Local bars are pretty good. Room was expected to be small and it was. Went to local café for breakfast. The fan in room was a life saver. Hotel is very typical for Paris, clean, basic and scary lift.

SpainBreakfast was very simple, and being there during and for the olympics the price was a bit high (as expected)
Location next to a well connected metro station and at 5 mins walk from the SacreCoeur - the perfect shower and impeccable clean bathroom - the high ceiling and bright room with the very silent ceiling van that made the summer nights bearable.

FranceThe rooms are small but clean and functional..bed was fine. Obviously, the neighbourhood is not particularly nice but we didn't have any specific issues.
Breakfast was simple but correct for 7 euro. (Of course it would have been nice to have fruit or yoghurts too.) It's nice to have someone at reception all the time. Metro station is just next to the hotel, so easy to get to.

United KingdomI like a kettle in the room so it was a pain having to go down 3 floors to ask for hot water. The twin room was functional but the beds were so close it was more a double than twin as lack of room between beds. Sadly lift is only ok for a person at a time with luggage or two person without. Internet in room but a little erratic and had to keep resigning in.
The property was in an excellent location to access transport to all of Paris. The room was functional and clean and shower was excellent as was the fan as it was very hot. It was quiet at night as I can be disturbed and I slept well. The man on reception in the day was helpful and the young student on some of the nights absolutely lovely and helpful. Good TV in room but would be better if a smart tv you can link to your phone.

United KingdomThe location around the hotel seemed quite shady. Although it was really close to a metro station, there would always be men loitering outside the station at all times of the day. However, it was okay so long as you ignored/avoided them by using another entrance.
The room and bathroom were both spacious enough for two and comfortable. Although the room was also fairly bare, but it's totally expected for its price, and was good value for money.
