Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyThe room was a bit too tight, but overall OK. Breakfast could have been more varied (only boiled eggs for warm plates, not many fruits).
Location was super, right in the first line in front of the Old Port. Metro and bus stop right across the street. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was simple but good - I appreciated specially the natural orange juice.

United KingdomDidn’t like the room, too small, also a lot of stairs to walk up to reception area, not good if you have walking problems.
Hotel was ideal right in front of the port of Marseille. When we arrived was told they only had one room left even though we had pre-booked our 2 night stay. The room was very small you could just about move around the bed to get to the bathroom, there was a window but not sure what it overlooked as the glass was frosted and seemed to much effort to reach over the bed and window sill to open it. We did however have air con. The staff were lovely and she did say we could of moved rooms but we had unpacked what we could and as only there for 2 nights decided to stay in this room. Although the room was small it was clean.

IrelandThe Mistral wind whipped through Marseille for two days but hey what a beautiful place to stay.
The hotel is so centrally located facing the huge harbour and stuck between two restaurants. Watch out for the 2m wide black canopy with the hotel name on it,otherwise you'll miss the entrance. The room was perfect and the bed was brilliant to sleep in. The breakfast was quirky yet so very good, We where at the rear of the hotel so we didn't have a harbour view but it didn't matter. The staff are so very helpful and really go out of their way to help you. The room is cleaned every day and in room 107 they have a TV projector screen which encompasses the whole wall....fabulous it was like being at the cinema. Would I go back to this hotel.....In a heartbeat,10/10.

United KingdomStairs up to the reception, lugging the suitcase up there was not easy (but a member of staff did run out to help us so this was great). No coffee making facilities in the room.

United KingdomRoom was a bit small, however this was of little consequence as I was travelling by myself. Tea/coffee maker facilities would have been good, although these were available downstairs.
Well decorated, modern room on 3rd floor, hotel situated right on the old harbour. Comfortable bed, good breakfast, helpful, friendly and welcoming staff. Would stay again.

IrelandBreakfast was mediocre. We stayed four nights and each day there was either no fruit, baguettes, cups, fresh fruit. If you provide breakfast, you need to have food stocked as not everyone comes at the same time.
Location wonderful. Room clean but space very tight. Air con very good as it was warm. Staff helpful and informative.

Bonaire St Eustatius and SabaYou have to go up the stairs, with suitcases to first floor, where the reception is. We read about it, but if you are there, tired, its not fun. But they did help us with it. That was nice. Our tv did not work well, and its just a beamer, projecting on the wall. We were with 3 of us and they put up a sofa bed, so there was minimum walking space in the room. Every night they play an african kind of drum in the harbour, untill midnight. If you are a light sleeper, its not handy though.
The view is amazing! The location is perfect, is centrally located, right in front of the harbour and close to shops and restaurants. The bathroom is great, spacy. The staff did their best. We booked this hotel, because of the view and for 2 nights it was ok. And we loved the location, we could walk easily from there to discover beautiful Marseille.

AustraliaThere’s a couple of flights of stairs to drag your luggage up to reception before a lift is available however the hotel clearly communicates this before you book. You just have to use your muscles! The bathroom had a musty strange smell that wasn’t too nice. Room was very small but again this is clear at booking stage. Towels are on the small side and we only had 2 flat pillows which is tricky when there are two of you and one sleeper usually has 3 or so pillows.
Location of the hotel could not be better you step out of the hotel directly on to the port. Friendly and helpful staff at check in. Air con is good and works well. Rain shower is lovely. Cute decor in hotel. Quiet inside, no noise can be heard from outside despite being situated on top of the port.

United StatesThe rooms are called cocoon but you don’t realize how extremely tiny they are. I’m claustrophobic so I had anticipated to get a room as in the pictures of what we booked, but we didn’t. It was much smaller in dimension, felt like a walk-in closet rather than a bedroom for two people. The bed is an American full size, just keep that in mind. They only give 1 big pillow and 2 very small flat pillows per room. Was not very happy about that, as it was difficult to sleep on flat pillows. Very small bathroom, literally no where to put luggages or necessities. The stairs can take a toll on you, especially with luggage. They only have a tiny elevator once you’ve walked up 2 full flights of stairs.
Amazing staff!! Fav thing about this place that made the stay worthwhile. Friendly and knowledgeable and very hospitable. Breakfast was also good, same items every morning. Has good AC, which was a big plus given the August heat wave. Location is nice and central to many walkable places.

United KingdomSome of the sockets were hanging from the walls , appeared to be very dangerous. The lift was tiny but this was not a huge issue and it's not convenient having to carry cases up two flights of staircases to the check in area however this is made perfectly clear in all of the correspondence we received prior to our visit.
Fabulous location , great view of the port , air conditioning was a very welcome bonus in the hot conditions. Staff were extremely helpful and friendly.
