The hotel has just re-opened under new ownership. It has been very tastefully renovated. Excellent breakfast with local yoghurt and fromage blanc. Lovely flowers in communal areas. Agnes Sorel patio a great spot.

Not dislikes but cautions- the parking outside the Hotel is “payant” not a problem at night but very expensive in the day 15euros for 3 hours- fortunately we are familiar with french parking and were able to find some free parking a 100yds down the road though this wasn’t explained when we arrived- the welcome was perfunctory. Also check in times are limited and early or late check in attracts an additional fee so make sure you’re familiar with the checkin rules!

Spotlessly clean rooms, comfortably furnished, lovely bathroom with bath. Our room was not in the main hotel but around a court yard nearby- this wasn’t a problem though and had a pleasant outdoor sitting area. Generous continental breakfast. A really excellent restaurant is located a short walk away (Les Années 30) as are the main tourist sites.

Beautiful room with its own outside patio area. Really nice clean facilities air-conditioning as it was hot. Everything tidy and neat. Really nice help yourself breakfast, friendly staff, very laid-back brilliant location right next to the lake

The shower was over the bath but there was no shower curtain and no non slip mat in the bath.

The position was excellent, an easy walk to the old town and restaurants. We paid a little more for a larger room, money well spent.

Parking in Chinon is a pain with seemingly complicated payment rules .... not that we ever saw any enforcement, and in fairness, it is probably easier to use than the App based horrors in the UK. Happily, there was a free car park about 150 metres from the hotel with a space left. If you arrive after about 5pm you can park overnight in the bay opposite the hotel, but come 09.00 the following morning, you will need to decipher the rules at the ticket machine and pay, or move.

The location is particularly good for exploring Chinon on foot and as a bonus is directly opposite the river. The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, and our room was in a small private courtyard a few metres from the main building, which we particularly liked. Breakfast was good, bread and croissants, etc, in the main building with various additional options available and as much tea and coffee as you want. We would be happy to recommend this hotel to anyone we knew.

We were very happy with our stay.

This is our second visit to this hotel and we stayed in the same room overlooking the river, which was incredibly relaxing after a long journey from the ferry. The bed was very comfortable and the spacious room has some lovely antique furniture. Only a short walk from the spectacular medieval town itself, with lots of restaurants to choose from.

Excellent room, close to town centre. Parking convenient. Owners/staff friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend this little hotel. Next time in Chinon will try to stay there again.

The bed is really comfortable and the terrace is very pretty. I was impressed that the various pots of beautiful petunias were dead headed every day!
