Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomA few small issues were noticeable but did not spoil the experience - the shower head fixture was slightly loose and the process to connect to the WiFi was difficult for some devices
incredibly easy experience, just felt like a home away from home. Plenty of space in the fridge and freezer in the kitchen area and the room was a great size.

NetherlandsA little away from the center. Rooms have thin walls because we heard some disturbance from the next room past midnight.
Nice, clean, comfortable rooms, with a small kitchenette. Checkin wasn't a problem even after 10pm. Close to bus stop and RER C station. Affordable, considering other options in Paris.

CanadaQuality of the towels could have been better. They were a little thin, still worked though! I believe someone smoked in the room prior. There was a faint smell of cigarettes but with the windows open it was fresher.
Great room, very quiet with views onto a cute little courtyard. Didn't expect to have a little efficiency with a microwave and oven, burners, sink and mini-fridge. Perfect little surprise. Bed was very comfy, linens were fresh. Towel warmer worked amazing.

NetherlandsFront door is lock protected, which says something about the area, however we felt safe at all times in the neighbourhood. Walls are very thin, you can hear furniture moving and people talking.
Was not using breakfast, there are boulangeries near by. Kitchenette is very small, but have all the needed equipment. Parking garage was a decent price for Paris and had plenty of space. RER station is close by and Metro is 15 minutes walk. There is also huge shopping center within 10-15 minutes.

PolandThrough 7 days of our stay, the room hasn’t been cleaned once. We had to ask the staff about toilet paper and when mentioning the trash not being taken out, we were instructed to do this by ourselves. Which we did as eventually no one came to Clean the room.
decent bathroom, extremely comfortable bed, ideal location (10 min to RER, 20 to Metro that can take you to the city centre; and 5 min to the closest market).

NetherlandsThe shower goes cold after a while. Getting to the center wasn’t the easiest and takes 30-60 minutes. There is a train nearby going directly into the center, but it didn’t run very regularly (approx 2 times per hour). Taxis were plentiful (using an app), though Paris traffic doesn’t always make this the quickest either.
The small kitchen. Good value for money. There is a shopping mall with Carrefour nearby.

PolandThe electricity box in our room was a bit noisy.
Cozy bed, nice bathroom, ok kitchen, if you use metro the location is quite good because you can get to the center like in 30-40 minutes, very easy enter to hotel/room, store nearby and fine restaurant to grab some wine in the evening, view of Eiffel Tower.

ItalyI was not welcomed the best way by staff. the first day we arrived we left our luggage in the storage room as check in is from 3 pm and we were early. We came back to the hotel at around 9.30 pm and there was a guy at reception who made us pay the reservation. Saying that this individual was rude is not enough. He was rude to my mum, who doesn’t speak English, because she didn’t understand to take away the card from the card machine, he didn’t let me finish speak, you could tell from his face that he’d rather be somewhere else than working. I then came downstairs again to ask him for an additional pillow and some towels, as we were given only one hand towel and one for the body and we were two people. He kicked off straight away when I asked this, he was so rude, and even wanted to come upstairs to my room to check that I was not lying. I have never seen anything like this in my life. He then did not come upstairs with me and he gave me the towels, but no pillow, I was too afraid to ask, as he had been so rude and so unprofessional. When he gave me the towels, which he went to get like he had done a job like climbing mount everest, he gave me the towels and I said to him that he had been rude to us since we arrived for no reason. He answered saying I’m sorry but then said “and now do not disturb”. I complained a couple of days later to another member of staff who was so nice to me, gave me an extra pillow, and explained to me that the rude guy was just a temp and apologised. I appreciate the apology, but it’s not a justification, even if the guy is a temp member of staff that he treats people so disrespectful and so unprofessionally. The guy just doesn’t deserve the job, he has been terrible with me and never experienced anything like that. The hotel was clean and we slept well all nights, it’s not noisy and we liked the comfort of having a little kitchen to make your own coffee and some food.
the property is easy to get to by metro, but it is outside Paris city centre takes about 40 minutes by metro to get there, it is very well linked to the centre. The room was very clean, and has got all the comforts, good shower, and a tiny kitchen which comes in very handy to make your own coffee in the morning and cook some small bites. The room was quiet and we slept very well for the whole stay.
