Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandI had no cleaning service throughout my 4 days of stay. Smell in the hotel corridors was a bit off. Using the elevator was disturbing cause of the strange noises coming from around.
It was clean when I came, and the room had fairly new equipment. Location was ok.

RussiaWe stayed for 6 nights, there were 2 separate bookings. The hotel is acceptable in quality, but the extremely unqualified reception staff make that experience horrible. Not only are they incompetent but they are also rude to the guests. On the morning of the 8th of May I asked for towels to be changed in my room. I was informed that towels would not be changed until 8 days later. I reminded them that I had 2 separate bookings and the second one should include cleaning and towel change. I have already paid for it. The person at the front desk refused. I asked to speak to the manager. In response the receptionist started shouting. I asked for his/her name, she introduced herself as "nameless". This is the worst Accor chain accommodation experience I have had. I was not expecting such terrible customer service from a global hospitality chain. I believe employees who don't want to work with guests should leave the Accor team
the location is fine. Kitchen allows to cook.

United KingdomStove top - cannot use both of the stove tops as the pan hits the control panel. We had to cook meals as needed before the Paris marathon (pre-marathon dinner and breakfast).
Close to metro station. Space is good for couple. Clean property and in a secure area. Close to restaurants / cafe. Access to kitchen and mini fridge. Responsive members of staff when we had to call for help on using the stove top.

SpainThe furniture was so old that it had many parts broken (lamps, corners in the room, bathroom, and floor). The second day of our stay we couldn’t shower because there was no hot water in the whole morning (we arrived at night and didn’t check, but we had plans we couldn’t wait forever) The same day (I guess trying to fix the water) the fire alarm started to ring for more than 5 minutes and we didn’t know if it was real, nobody checked on us or the whole floor, we went down and the alarm stopped. Nobody helped or said anything. The reception opening times were not clear, twice we had to wait for 30min for the receptionist to come.
The bed was comfortable

BulgariaThe pillows were a bit thin, but that's a personal prefference. The hotel is a bit far from city center, but it has good transport connections, even night bus.
The litchen was a good bonus, we used it a lot. The bathroom was great, with a new shower.

GermanyBreakfast could be booked extra, not that cheap but much better than average French breakfast. But I like eggs; in this case one had to fry the raw eggs by oneself in an pan. Who the f. does this? Nobody did. It did rain the whole week, but this does not impact the beauty of Paris
The Clichy neighborhood was much better than expected. Metro 600 m. Good location to get into Paris. Staff very helpful.

United KingdomStaff was very rude. A guy called TOM was lacking basic skills of a receptionist and very rude. He denied even giving tea bags to us, although it was supposed to be free as per my booking. There was no tea machine available in room, Laundry was paid and it was not mentioned in booking.com website either. Very few options in breakfast and was super expensive for 14 euros. So in all worst stay ever till date.
Just nothing need refund from booking.com for sharing incomplete and wrong information on facilities.

RomaniaThe fact that they don’t clean the room .
They don’t clean the room in 3 days . They request an extra fee for cleaning.Hotel requesting from guests to evacuate the garbage downstairs . It is like a hostel. They cannot be called hotel. It is faraway from metro station . The only good think was that internet worked well , without interruptions .

FranceThe location feels just like a student residence and if there was not a person at reception I would not feel safe at night as a solo female traveler since it was mostly groups of men staying there when I went. There were lots of signs everywhere like in a student residence (don't take any breakfast away with you, don't do this or that etc.). The person at reception was not friendly and they take an extra damage deposit of 50 Euros (though the place has so much damage, I can't imagine why, it was really ironic). One of the two elevators is broken, all the fire doors are damaged and not repainted, and the hall carpet is stained. Inside the room the floor and walls have marks and dents in them, the mini fridge in my room wasn't working at all (no power). The floor didn't seem clean in the room nor in the bathroom and there are burn stains on the edge of the sink from cigarettes (thought it was a non-smoking room). The shower is Italian style (flat level with the floor) and the seals are broken on the small barrier wall so the bathroom floor gets flooded every time you shower. It is crazy that this place got such good reviews because the only great thing is the proximity to metro and a comfy bed. Maybe I got unlucky and a very bad room or maybe they are all like this! Don't have high expectations; the online photos are NOT the reality!
Location was close to the metro and close to the area I had meetings in. There were a lot of shops and restaurants nearby. The bed was comfortable and the room was quite large (double bed and you could actually walk around the bed with room for two chairs and small table). The breakfast was good (boiled eggs, pastries, coffee).

PhilippinesThe attitude of some of the staff leaves much to be desired. The ventilation of the room as well as the room service (esp. for towels and tissues) could do better. Also, the phone lines were not working.
I liked that the location was pretty accessible and the rate was affordable. The coffee and hot chocolate at the front desk every time you get back from outside was also good. The beds and the room were clean. There were enough closets and hangers.

IndiaStaff, staff, staff No cleaning, even on request to clean for payment. And when we were leaving, they charged a whooping € 50 per room , and we had just left some towels on the floor and a few used bags, maybe. Charging is one thing but they also acted as if we really dertied the room. We even cleaned the kitchen utensils properly and beds and room floor and bathroom properly. No thrash bags to throw away used grocery bags was the only leftovers and the staff behaved as if we really made the room a mess. Totally disgusting behaviour and they wanted to charge €200 by using our Caution deposit of €100 also. Adagio hotels , not for us.
Hardly anything..
