“This hotel is absolutely gorgeous - full of character and thoughtfully restored. There were interesting artefacts all over the place, and a very grand staircase. The staff were very welcoming and friendly.
We ate in the restaurant and the food was high quality, generously portioned and cooked in front of us on an open fire. There was no vegetarian option so be prepared if you don’t eat meat.
Our little dog was welcomed in all areas, including the restaurant.
The history of the property is so interesting.
The location is perfect - right by the river with a gorgeous view, and a short walk into the centre of town.
The bedroom we stayed in on the 2nd floor was beautiful and traditional, with a very comfy bed. The shower was hot and had good pressure. We had a corner room with a view over the terrace and the lake.”
