Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomYou have to make sure to duck down enough! We bumped our heads quite a few times going in and out of the yurt, we never learnt our lesson!
Hosts were extremely attentive and friendly, the yurt was really warm and welcoming with almost a homely quality to it! The surrounding area was beyond beautiful and we were able to have so much fun in the snow! Breakfast was wonderful and really hit the spot and the option to buy and cook some sausages over a fire was delightful.

Lovely staff, friendly atmosphere away from the city. Loved the barbecue every night in the old barn. Super friendly staff who knocked on our door when the auroras could be seen!

GermanyThe hosts were very kind and helpful. The yurt was cosy and warm. We had the opportunity to grill in the barn for dinner and have been told when there were auroras at the sky. We would come back.

The delight of our Finland visit. The yurt, the location, the communal firepit and barn. The staff. The views. The trek up to the standalone yurt up in the mountain. Just an absolute dream of a place and I’m sure anyone whom visits would agree. I hope to one day return

United KingdomAmazing is only one out of few words which can describe our experience in Yurt District. An accomandation which makes you feel one with the nature. The Yurts are warm, nicely decorated and clean. Kati (the owner) is a lovely person, and she is looking after you, dont miss the morning chats with her while she is cleaning the snow to open the roads for you. Peaceful area, close to Rovaniemi and a great spot if you are lucky to see the Aurora Borealis.

This day in Yurt District will remain one of the most beautiful days of our lives... We got engaged in this fabulous and timeless place. The help of our host was invaluable, she was thoughtful, attentive and very kind. For this we thank her once again and will do our best to return there one day. This place is incredible, the accommodations, in addition to being beautiful and well-kept, are authentic and surrounded by breathtaking nature. We recommend this place without any hesitation. AustraliaTo be very nit-picky: - The breakfasts were absolutely lovely but I would have enjoyed if there was some coffee making facilities in the room, such as some instant coffee (the room already contains a kettle and tea bags). We felt guilty having to message the staff on whatsapp asking for coffee very regularly as we are big drinkers! I recommend bringing your own if you're like me :) - I think the accommodation could benefit from the addition of another shower, or at least a standalone toilet (the two available were a shower/toilet combo). One morning I had to wait over 45 mins for people to finish up showering to be able to use the loo. Be mindful of peak hours of use so you don't end up hopping on the spot like I was! - The website advertises that they have a mini-mart to buy some essentials, which they do- but it really is a MINI mart. You can't really buy much there other than bread and sausages to cook on the communal campfire. Bring your own food! - The accommodation is a long way from town. We knew this and planned accordingly but just be mindful it is a 60 euro one-way trip into Rovaniemi or santa's village and you need a taxi to go anywhere from the accommodation. Most of the tours (northern lights etc.) will not pick you up from the Yurt district as it's too far out of town, so plan accordingly. - Wifi can be sketchy. That shouldn't matter to you in such a gorgeous place though, we barely looked at our phones the whole time!
The yurt was gorgeously warm and homely, decorated perfectly for the region and you could even buy certain items of decoration if you wanted to. It was in a simply magical part of the world and every time we stepped outside we were awed by the area. Staff were incredibly helpful and friendly, any issue at all taken care of promptly. I cannot overstate this enough- if you have a question or issue, just ask them. We were reliant on wifi only during our travels and so had to message them to ask to book taxis on our behalf (as taxis required a mobile text confirmation). They were more than happy to do this and we were so grateful! The room contained some basic food items and breakfast was provided daily. The team were great at observing our comings and goings and whenever we returned from a walk the room was stocked with breakfast and so we never felt imposed upon. One night the yurt district were lucky enough to see the northern lights directly overhead! This is one of the best places to see the lights so if you're not booking a separate tour you may yet get lucky (I wouldn't necessarily RELY on seeing it at Yurt district but your chances are good) Once the snow was heavy enough a ramp was created and you can toboggan down it just near the yurts (little boards are available). These small touches and thoughtfulness really made it a fantastic trip.

United KingdomNone
The location was a distant from the town, we picked that so that there’s minimal light pollution for changes to see northern light. However it was a cloudy week, so we only managed to see later in the week after we left. Even tho it’s -16 out there, the yurt remains warm and cozy! Instant quick communication with the excellent team, great hospitality made everything so perfect, quick check in with a quick intro of the place, setting up fire pits for BBQ at the common use barn, resolving one of the radiators that wasn’t working. I’m really impressed with how responsive the team is and how well they look after their guests! Definitely a must to visit at Rovaniemi, outstanding accommodation with great hospitality
