Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyOnly very little things: the price for some rentals is a little bit high, for example you pay for a slay that is not really working, it is incredibly slow (we needed to walk down the hill). Or you need to pay the double price for the snow shoes. But however it is understandable, since the room price is quite good. The restaurant was really excellent one evening and disappointing the other evening. But it might be because it was the last evening of the season...however the first dinner was amazing.
Amazing room, with stunning view. Nice team and good breakfast. The location is absolutely perfect for sunsets, Wintersport and Aurora hunting. The team was very friendly and kind.

CanadaYou don’t realize unless you go to town (which is a 20€ cab ride) they are the only food option for dinner. Which is fine but you don’t always need fine dining every night
It is totally set up as it’s own little resort

GermanyThe mattresses were extremely lumpy (we weren't the only ones with this complaint: I overheard some people in the lobby requesting a mattress change). The lighting in the room was a bit on the dark side. When we had dinner, restaurant staff were not very attentive and slow. I felt the airport shuttle was a bit overpriced.
Having a sauna and kitchenette in the room was great. Staff at the reception etc. were extremely helpful. The location insured that we get a breathtaking view, even though we weren't lucky with the dates to catch the northern lights. It was convenient that activities such as husky sleigh ride are offered by the hotel (and I do recommend this particular activity).

United KingdomCan feel a little cut off from the town, shuttle bus does not start until 11:30 and only 3-4 times a day, so apart from ski lift and toboggan, only way to get around is to walk if you don’t have a car
Beautiful location with wonderful views of the sunrise, sunset, and the Aurora

South KoreaWe liked everything. However, my friends who stayed in the same room type as us had a slightly more outdated bathroom and sauna. Perhaps some rooms were built earlier or later than others.
Out of everything I loved here, the service was the utmost. If the room is ready, the staff allows early check-in. Especially since we had a long flight hours, early check-in was like the best hospitality. Several staff members in the lobby are all kind and understanding. Breakfast was pretty luxurious even though it only ran 8-10, which made us unable to catch up one day because of the early flight. The water was strong, the sauna was fabulous, and the kitchen was cozy but had everything we needed.

AustraliaThere was nothing we didn't like about our stay.
Located on top of a mountain at the start of the longest toboggan run in Finland. Friendly staff and a very nice restaurant. The outdoor winter activities at the hotels wilderness centre are well worth considering.

United KingdomThe viewing suites overlook a ski resort town which creates a lot of light pollution and makes it harder to see any aurora so you probably wont see them from these rooms. The layout of the 2-floor viewing suite is quite awkward so if you want a room with private sauna I’d recommend requesting the single floor sauna suite. The 2-floor sauna suite is at the end of the block where the snow plough piles up all the snow in front of the window so it hindered our view from the sauna. Also people kept walking past while we were in the sauna and they could see inside which felt like a privacy violation. There was a miscommunication and the driver who was meant to pick us up and take us to the husky sledding left without us which made us feel somewhat undervalued as guests. Only breakfast was included, dinner was an expensive additional fee and was served warm/cold (meant to be hot) and the quality was disappointing. Some staff need to work on their customer service (especially wait staff seemed somewhat standoff ish). We rented a toboggan but no one warned us how dangerous the slope was and by the time we got to the bottom the ski lifts had been shut off and it was a nightmare to get a bus and taxi back to the resort.
We stayed in the 2-floor viewing suite with private sauna and the sauna was amazing, it was the perfect way to end the day after being out in the freezing cold. The variety at breakfast was good. We did the husky sledding safari which was fantastic, a ‘once in a lifetime’ excursion. The excursion concierge Martin had good customer service and gave an honest review of all the activities you can book. The front desk staff were usually friendly.

United KingdomFantastic, unique property atop one of the larger hills in Finland. Great views across the ski-slopes, and we were even lucky enough to catch an incredible Northern Lights show from our balcony and around the property. The tours were very good; we even came back for a tour from Star Artcic even once we'd moved accomodation.

GermanyOn our first night in the glass cabin, there was a light from their parking area which was reflecting on our glass - thus affecting our ability to see out in the dark. However, the hotel offered to move us to another cabin and extended our stay in the cabin for an additional night for free (we had a non-cabin room booked for the second night). So overall, we were very happy.
One of the best hotels I have come across in Europe. I was expecting it to be average given its remote location. But it is very luxurious and comfortable. Excellent service. Very helpful staff. Great rooms! And great breakfast. Strongly recommend.

United StatesValue wise the cabin doesn’t compare to the view suites in my opinion (which can be even cheaper than this.) I recommend this for a night two max to enjoy the novelty of it and then switching over to the more practical suites.
The location is amazing, the restaurant onsite is super convenient as well. Heated tiles are a great touch.

United StatesBed was two separate pieces, would’ve preferred just a conjoined queen or king. Gets a bit cold on the side of the bed next to the windows.
Amazing location, and the view suite with sauna is amazing value when compared to the igloo style cabins. Has even a small induction stove top and pans you can cook with if needed. Heated tiles feel great after a long day in the cold. Pillows and bed are comfy. Couch is nice to lounge on and watch TV. Lots of space.

AustraliaThe only issue I found was how tiny the shower was. And that it leaked under the door and you needed to ‘squeegie’ it back to the drain when you were finished each time.
The Aurora cabin was amazing. The staff were fantastic especially the girls on reception - nothing was too much for them!! The breakfast was so good, absolutely beautiful.
