Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaPrice is expensive and we could afford one night only which is a cloudy night. No chance to see northern light.
Good experience to sleep under the glass roof. Good room size for two persons.

GermanyQuite honestly, I can't think of anything. I had high expectations and they were exceeded.
Everything was perfect. We arrived early (around 11:30) and luckily our igloo was already available. The staff was extremely attentive and helpful. They took our luggages to our igloo, so we didn't have to worry about carrying them in the snow (same thing when we checked out). We were a group of 4 to stay in the same igloo and the space was perfect. The main room (where the glass wall and ceiling are located) even had an extra bed, so the 4 of us could be there an appreciate the sky in the evening all together. Don't miss the dinner, we had the artic char with lobster and it was amazing (also great starters and dessert). Breakfast had a nice selection of items to feed all tastes. And the best thing, we were lucky to see the northern lights from our window during our stay there. Not a cheap accommodation, but definitely worth it

Hong KongThe price premium for Easter weekend was severe. They tried to offset the premium by including the cost of a main course at the restaurant in the evening, however entrees and desserts alone were quite expensive. Like many places in Finland, the rooms are provided with adjacent twin beds for couples with two duvets. I inevitably find myself falling into the gap between the two beds and never covered by a duvet. The machine coffee in the dinings room is grim.
The glass roof bungalows are comfortable and novel. The bathroom was spacious and clean. The breakfast was good. the facilities seem to be quite new, especially the dining room.

United StatesThe only downfall was the weather, we came to see the aurora and they were a no show due to clouds. So nothing that the hotel can do, they exceeded our expectations.
Everything was wonderful, dinner was delicious. We enjoyed trying their Finnish food!

SwitzerlandThe glass igloos are nice, cozy, clean, and something special. But in hindsight they seem not worth paying 2-3x what a hotel room costs. Especially considering that the likelihood of a seeing spectacular northern lights with your naked eyes while in there are small. After all, you're probably only there for a few nights. If you just want to see the night sky -- which is wonderful, too -- go for it. The igloos are also quite close to each other, thus depending on which one you get you can have a close neighbor on both sides and one an in front of you. (They have curtains to improve privacy, though.)
Very attentive and friendly staff; breakfast buffet was reasonable; restaurant was delicious but with very limited vegetarian/vegan options, though they offered to prepare something additional if we'd asked early enough.

AustraliaAbout a third of the glass igloo was still covered with snow even after switching on the heating multiple times to try to melt them off. Didn't hinder our views much in the end as it was super cloudy on the 1 night we were there and the Northern lights didn't pop out at all that night. The breakfast spread was pretty simple. Expected more considering how expensive this hotel was. Had better breakfast options at other hotels in the area. The accommodation itself is quite a bit of a walk from the main santa village square.
Cabins were beautiful and cosy. Beds were super comfortable. We had a discount for our dinner at the hotel restaurant (which, apologies, for the life of me, I can't remember what it's called) and the food was delicious. The surrounding views were beautiful. We were there end of January 2024 and had super thick fresh white snow, which my mother and sister hadn't seen before, so that was really lovely.

AustraliaBathroom leaked water in the shower floor and the service at the restaurant was a little slow but the food was quite nice.
Staying in the igloos was definitely a bucket list for us. Hotel staff were friendly. Was great they had an aurora alert and you could message the staff through a tablet in the room. Walking distance to Santa's Village, breakfast buffet was good and had a lot of options. Would definitely stay again

United StatesThere is light pollution from Santa’s village. We didn’t see the northern lights but with the light pollution I think it would make it harder to see them from the igloo on a crystal clear sky night…

United Arab EmiratesThe room facilities for the price just don’t compare to other accommodation
The reception staff were absolutely first class - friendly, courteous, highly responsive and every request was granted including early check in, late check out and waiving mini bar charges given we weren’t able to take up the complimentary dinner offer . The rooms have an automatic alert for when the Northern Lights are appearing and we were lucky enough to have the amazing experience of capturing the priceless moment!

SingaporeVery small room and extremely pricey. There was a tablet for guests to text the hotel staff/reception but there was no response.
Will be awesome if there were northern light sightings, so do check out the weather conditions and aurora forecast for a higher chance to make your stay worthwhile. otherwise, i would say it is just another hotel with novelty of glass ceilings.
