Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaNot really an issue, but the reception is only open from 10:00 so if you leave early it might be hard to leave luggage. They are very friendly tough and help you out when you call.
Nice modern and spacious studios right at the Aalto university campus. By tram and metro it is also quite easy to reach the city center of Helsinki. Has a sauna,, gym and areas to get some work done.

AustraliaThe check in procedure was unnecessarily complicated for exhausted international travellers from the other side of the world. The reception staff could have been more proactive helping, but they were pleasant and courteous. There was little else to complain about, other than the cafe owner was a little on the mean side when rewarding the breakfast vouchers.
We were attending a conference at Aalto University, which is close by, only a 1.2 km walk, and there is also a tram service, which we did not use, preferring to walk. The walks in the forest and beside the marshes are beautiful and a fine example of Finnish government planning to keep green areas with natural beauty integrated into residential, educational and cultural facilities. There was also a well stocked supermarket just across the car park.

United States**Hotel Check-In: I would not put this in this section (What didn't you like?) if I had a self-registration code before I arrived at the hotel. Self check-in requires a 6-digit code from the hotel via email. Due to my booking was through Booking.com, I didn't receive the code. There was no person in the hotel office when I arrived and it turned out that the person was working elsewhere in the hotel to take care of something. Thus, I called Booking.com and it provided the 6-digit code after contacting the hotel, almost 15 to 20 min on the phone. I was told that hotel didn't sent the code to me. Self-check took about 10 min and you issue your own rook key as well during the registration.
** Hotel Amenities: Nice sauna, workout gym, recreation/living area, common kitchen, laundry center (has many washing machine and dryers and irons/ironing boards, other hotel sponsored activities. All these amenities are provided with no charge/cost. ** Hotel Breakfast: Pre-purchase at hotel 15 Euros, pay without pre-purchase 17 Euros. But if you don't mind, you can get all you need for breakfast from K Market as you have a furnished small full kitchen in the unit. See below for additional information. ** Location: Conveniently located to Aalto University (~12 to 15 min walk) and Aalto University Metro Station (~10 to 13 min walk to Exit B). Helsinki Central Station or Market Square (and other Helsinki metro stations can be reached in about 15 min or so from Aalto University Station. Right next to the hotel, there is K Market (less than 30 seconds walk from the hotel). There is a great walking/running/bike trail along the sea within less than 2 min walk from the hotel. ** Room: Very clean and each unit comes with small kitchen (furnished, including dish washer, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, induction cook top, dish soap and clothes. Thus, it is a studio unit. No TV in the unit, but you can rent if you want one. Unit has two good size closets for your clothes and other belongs. The room was cleaned every other day. ** Overall rating: I'd highly recommend if you are visiting Helsinki area and Aalto University. Especially if you plan to stay short-term (e.g., a week/weeks) or longer-term (months), I'd highly recommend this hotel. Also great value for your money.

GermanyThe bed was unconfortable for us and the ventilation of the room really bothered us. The explanation of how to open the doors was also a bit too short. One thing missing was an individual hairdrier
The sauna was great and it was really good, that there was the opportunity to wash laundry. It was really clean and all appliances were new. The view was really great too.

ChinaIt would be more convenient if the paper-based appointment for laundry could be replaced by an electronic system. Moreover, I think cleaning every two days is not necessary. Sometimes, the staff comes too early in the morning for cleaning. I suggest offering a 'Do not disturb' badge, similar to the 'pet inside' one.
I spent a whole month at Noli Otaniemi. It really exceeded my expectations. First of all, the building and the facilities are very new. Especially, I like the laundry with high-end machines. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. My room was on the top floor facing the sea. The view was quite good and I witnessed the whole process of the arrival of the spring season. It was quite enjoyable. In terms of the location, it takes less than 10 mins by walking to reach the metro station and the tram station is just in front of the building. It is quite near (8 mins by walking) to Aalto University where I worked. I saved a lot of time and money on commutes. Besides, there is a very nice hiking trail with some observation platforms for observing birds near the place.

FinlandCleaning services: cleaning guys should be considerate about other people. Knocking repeatedly early morning before 9:30 am while the person is sleeping was not very welcoming. Plus sometimes they forgot to replace/provide the toiletries too.

LatviaThe bathroom could be a bit wider so that the WC and shower could be used without interference. The sink could be a little bigger so that when you lean over it, your head does not hit the shelf above it. There could be shelves for small items near the bed, and a couple more sockets near the bed would not be bad.
Convenient location next to the tram stop, a couple of food stores in the vicinity. Fully automated check-in, spacious and well-equipped room, built-in kitchen including fridge, freezer and dishwasher, quality sanitary facilities including shower, possibility to use sauna.

Czech RepublicHaving salt in the main kitchen would ve awesome. Also during self checkin, it asks for pic of ID and then to manually fill details from the ID, it could be automatic.
It's super clean and convenient. We had an event at the University and the location was perfect, also close to the public transport. The emails supporting self checkin were very helpful.
