If you find lower-priced lodging elsewhere, take it. Neglect is slowly strangling this hotel.

the bathroom shower curtain was cheap and thoroughly failed to prevent condensation from soaking the entire bathroom floor. I was never able to get the floor towel adequately dried. This is because the bathroom's provided steam heated drying columns weren't active. Only the electric drying rack above them worked and it was ill-suited to drying anything of length. The left-side building's exterior paint job was old, poorly maintained, stained and chipped. It immediately concerned me as I approached the hotel, I worried what kind of quality would greet me inside. While comfortable, the interior's lingering vestiges of former prestige and comfort merely betray that the hotel appears unwilling or unable to perform or invest in maintaining appearances. Overall, this hotel competes poorly in both price and quality with Retkeilykeskus down the road. If a traveler can get a room there, do so. Lapland Hotel Kilpis should only be considered a last choice, especially given its price.

an acceptable breakfast was offered free (compared with Reteilykeskus 18€ charge. The dinner was largely delicious (their mountain bread offering, before entrees, is magically delicious), and reasonably priced. The staff were quite pleasant, diligent, well-trained, adequately English-fluent, very helpful, while avoiding being oppressive.

Poor quality rooms, especially beds were awful and pricey (obviously not much competition at Kilpisjärvi)

The room was small and I needed a desk to work at. This was solved by the Kabinetti.

Breakfast was excellent! Every day. A constant happiness to eat a hearty breakfast. I also liked the Kabinetti, which was a great place to work mostly alone while drinking a beer.

Perhaps some windows here and there looks rundown and need to be fixed. But this didnt destroy my stay there at the hotel. :-)

Had a very nice stay at Laplands Hotels Kilpis. Good food and nice, friendly staff. The room was a bit "simple" but ok.

The general facilities were rather ugly compared to other Lapland Hotels that I have stayed in. Everything is very old and outdated. Extensive renovations are needed. Having a one-time payment of 20 euros for electric car charging is very expensive - about three times more than anywhere else. It should be possible to change to an energy-based payment rather easily. The bathroom floor heater was set to a very high temperature that could not be adjusted.

The staff were absolutely fantastic - very friendly and extremely helpful! Value for money was rather low as the price was expensive and the room and facilities were just 'OK'. The breakfast was also outstanding. Lastly, the ranta sauna was very pleasant. The location was very convenient and the views were stunning.

Tiny room. Some issues with cleanliness. Found hairs under bed linens (before we slept in them). Restaurant could use some cleaning around the windows, there was lots of dust. Restaurant was experiencing some problems, main course was over an hour late for us and nearby tables.

Breakfast is nice with lots of options and fresh waffles. Dog friendly. Floor heating in bathroom. Key location for lots of activities. Friendly customer service.

Our room was in the extension part and it has definitely seen it´s best days already. There was a two beds, shower and toilet, nothing more. The air in the room was bit fusty. The room was very over priced for the quality.

We booked a budget alternative with our room in a hostel annex building. Bathroom not en suite and breakfast in the main building.

We booked for two nights, to be able to make a full day hike to Treriksröset, where the borders of Finland, Sweden and Norway meet. Really good breakfast with many alternatives. Breathtaking mountain surroundings. Lots of reindeers around.

The worst part of staying here was the absence of wifi connection in the room. Wifi was available in the main building. I failed to understand why the wifi availability could not be extended to the guest rooms, which should be a simple and not costly matter by the hotel management.

I like the cleanliness, staff attitude, included breakfast and the lakeside sauna. The hotel was also like a mini museum for Sami culture/tradition.

We stayed in a cabin/apartment for 5 people and the facilities are a bit worn-out, especially the bathroom is old. It would be a nice addition to get some brewed (herbal) tea for breakfast.

I don't think our room had black-out curtains? Those are important in the summer.
