Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RussiaGreat accommodation in all respects! An incredible quiet and beautiful natural place is located in a secluded corner in the forest on the shore of a swampy lake. Blueberries, mushrooms and a lot of pine trees grow everywhere. I'm thirsty for the local air. Everything in the house is thought out to the smallest detail and everything is very conveniently located. There is a pleasant aroma in the house. I was especially pleased with good wi-fi, a cozy wood-burning stove and a sauna. Also, the owners provide an excellent filter coffee maker and freshly ground aromatic coffee in a brimming jar. All day long, especially in the morning, squirrels and different types of birds came to us, for which there was a treat here. One day a handsome deer came to the house. Hiking trails lead directly from the house to the forest, along which we enjoyed walking for many hours. If you go from the house directly bypassing the swamp, you can climb the hill. Be sure to visit the swamp on foot, it's just a matter of jumping from hummock to hummock, but you need to wear all-terrain shoes. A distance of about two kilometers on the shore of another very large and beautiful lake (but not Lake Inari), the owners have their own rowing boat, which they provide to guests for free, and we took advantage of these with pleasure and devoted one of the evenings to fishing. To get to it, you need to walk through the picturesque forest for about 30 minutes or drive by car in five minutes. The owners take care of the surrounding nature and make separate garbage cans. At first we stayed here for two nights on the way from Norway, but we liked it so much that we extended our stay for another extra day. We really hope to return here one day, for example, in winter. We recommend this place 100%! With love from Russia. P.s. The hosts were very friendly and cheerful. Thank you Terhi ! And special thanks for the souvenirs))

Everything. The house is stunning in the middle of untouched nature. Arto and Terhi were so friendly like a family helping us with all what we needed. Perfect place to relax and stay in contact with nature, we could see the Aurora just on the frozen lake in front of the house. Best place we stayed during our Lapland vacation. We will come back for sure 😊

SpainNothing. Everything was perfect. The composting toilet may seem strange, although it was not a problem for us.
The fireplace with views of the landscape, the nature around the cabin, the sauna after a cold day, the visit of the reindeer and squirrels, the silence and peace that you feel... all this made our stay an unforgettable experience. Without forgetting the kindness and hospitality of Terhi.

Everything. It is a dream. A fairytale home. There js a built-in sauna. The hosts, Tehri and Arto are divine. They are so knowledgeable and helpful. The cabin is by a lake, in the middle of the woods. We didn’t want to leave and will definitely try to come back.

SingaporeNothing to dislike but the composting toilet is an experience! it’s clean and completely hygienic but a totally new experience for us! However, those with mobility issues may need to reconsider as the bedroom requires climbing a few steps.
It is like a piece of heaven. situated in front of a lake and amidst pine forests, it’s the perfect place for rejuvenation and exploration of nature. we enjoyed the Nature Walk with Terhi, a biologist by training, who educated us on the wonders of the area. In winter it looks like a scene from Narnia.

GermanyThis is an outstanding place. Staying with Terhi and Arto was a privilege I will never forget. The cabin is an extraordinarily crafted, cosy, and luxurious (your own sauna!) building with a special touch to it. It has everything you could ask for and directly overlooks wilderness, many birds, squirrels, swans. Terhi and Arto are the most caring, kind and supportive hosts with a rich knowledge of the area, loads of recommendations and just such positive people talking to. I was travelling on my own and wanted to find the ultimate escape from noisy big city life. This is it. This place and its surroundings are utterly beautiful, serene, placid. The air is so... crisp. I cannot imagine a more relaxing and peaceful place on this planet. Absolute recommendation!

AustraliaNot a negative, but you'll need to get used to the composting toilet! It's perfectly clean and doesn't smell, just needs some getting used to. The only other thing I would include is a kettle, but not a big deal, you can boil water on the electric stove.
My husband and I both LOVE this place and definitely want to come back again in the future! On the way to the cabin, unfortunately we both tested positive for COVID-19. Our hosts were so kind and understanding - they made sure we were comfortable, put cloudberries in the fridge for us, and didn't make a fuss at all about the extra cleaning/disinfecting that would be required. The cabin was a perfect place to self-isolate...and to watch the northern lights! It is in the middle of the Finnish wilderness with not a hint of light pollution. However it's not too far from the main house in case you need help and only 15 minutes' drive from Inari town centre. You can watch the northern lights dance from the warmth of the cabin, or from the porch or even from the frozen lake which is right outside the door. We took some amazing photos from the lake. As for amenities, the bathroom is spacious and the kitchen is well-stocked. There are two single beds upstairs which are super comfortable, and the sofa also folds out into a bed. The cabin even has its own sauna, which we definitely made good use of!

NetherlandsThis place is excellent.
This is one of the best places I’ve ever visited. We were blown away by the beauty of this cabin and its surroundings. It’s so peaceful, fully surrounded by nature (watching birds, squirrels and reindeer while enjoying breakfast) and you’ll have the best hosts you could wish for. They were so thoughtful and kind – really, we experienced next level hospitality. We had high expectations of this stay beforehand, but those expectations were exceeded big time. Can't wait to go back again one day. PS the sauna is brilliant.
