Getting in and out the shower was a bit of a challenge due to height but wouldn’t be put off.

Lovely breakfast with everything you could want for,first thing in the morning.. evening meals tho, very disappointing on the standard of hotel . The meat was only warm and there was very little choice to have with it. I went for potatoes with my meal and they were cold like other things...

Lovely hotel and lovely staff. Being an old prison back in the day with today's modern twist was interesting and better than a standard hotel so worth a stay..

For me was a lot bit cold in the room and I didn’t find a slippers.

We absolutely loved our stay in this hotel. Everything was perfect. Friendly staff. Spacious and quiet room, nice bed and pillows. Scandic style and interior. Reservation includes breakfast (many good options) and also dinner (it was restaurant quality).

The breakfast and dinner are included with the price. There is a different menu for dinner for each day of the week. I loved the soup and the salad! For breakfast, there is a wide selection - buffet style - cold and hot. We stayed here in the beginning of our vacation. We liked it so much that we booked it a second time at the end of our vacation. However, the second time around, the TV and the fridge did not work. One of the staff members tried to fix it but she could not. We were offered another room - one with a sauna so that was really cool.

The dinner selection, though a buffet, was quite limited. They do have a vegetarian option, though they may not list it - so ask for it from the staff. The cutlery at dinner was not as clean as one would hope. Similarly, the shower in the room had some mold around the corners, and generally the room could have been a bit better cleaned. While we figured out rather quickly how to turn on the sauna, it would've been nice to find a small instruction set somewhere.

A very unique experience at what used to be a prison. The breakfast was great and had a wide variety of options - from a typical Finnish breakfast to the more continental option. The room (a junior suite) was very spacious, with a view to the courtyard through a large window. The facilities were great.

My stay at this hotel was absolutely exceptional. The ambiance was warm and inviting, creating a truly relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious, offering a great variety, and the afternoon tea with cake was a delightful touch that made the experience even more special. I highly recommend this place and look forward to returning!

Bathroom needs a better solution to prevent floor from getting wet when one is having a shower. There's a small that isolates the shower from the toilet, but it's not enough. Also, I think it would be great if the TV in the room had streaming apps, so we could watch something before we go to bed or while we wait for breakfast to begin. And finnaly, I had a half-pension deal, but dinner didn't meet my expectations. Only 1 soup and 1 choice of meal was pretty basic.

Great place! It used to be a prison, but was remodeled to be a hotel. Some of the prison memorabilia are shown all around the place. Thee rooms are big and comfortable. Bathrooms are good. Breakfast was very good. Wi-Fi worked very well. Getting to the hotel from the airport was very wasy - I took the train from the airport to Helsinki Central Station and a tram from there to the hotel.

The [two course] evening meal was good quality food (no doubt) and traditional... but it was a one-stop shop. Anyone with special dietary requirements will struggle. A simple dessert with the evening meal would would make a massive difference.

Everything tbh. Coffee and cake in the afternoon was a nice touch.

Nice beds, but double was a little uncomfortable as missed the top mattress connecting the singles. 100(s) rooms did not have too much light due to cellar floor. The restaurant, also partly in the cellar, was so poorly lit that we struggled to eat, despite the ok quality and selection of food. Please fix the broken bulbs and add spotlights to the dining tables!

Dinner and breakfast was OK. limited choices but we enjoyed what we had. The self service was a bit chaotic.

Lovely hotel in an interesting fomer prison building... make sure you take a look around and read the history. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean, spaceous and comfortable. Parking in the grounds was important to us and was perfect. Short walk to everything we wanted to do.
