I stayed with my spouse for 2 nights in cabin number 8 and were well pleased with the cleanliness, room's heating (as outside temperature was -10 to -15), the polite and helpful staff, a fast food restaurant and a bar run by owner close to the property, close proximity to Ivalo river(good for Aurora gazing and other activities). The host and his son gave us valuable insights about Lapland and it's culture and we enjoyed the fast food with Finnish beer. Also the kitchen and washroom were just few steps away from our cabin and were super clean and well maintained which made us really happy. We would love to stay at Ivalo River Camping again and would highly recommend this place.

Nothing! I was very content, honestly.

The location was wonderful - it felt like I was secluded and out in nature, but in reality I was a short bike ride away from everything I needed (you can borrow bicycles from the reception when there isn't snow, and snowmobiles when there is). Alternatively, I could have walked everywhere but it would have taken a bit longer (although people do this, and I was able to walk to the airport at the end of my stay). The property is easily accessible by bus. It has its own special stop on the route from Rovaniemi to Ivalo. The staff were wonderful - friendly, helpful, warm. As a solo traveler staying in a hut in the middle of somewhat remote northern Finland, I felt very safe and secure. The accommodations provide you everything you need - a warm, comfortable place to sleep, hot showers, kitchen if needed, WiFi. You can purchase food at reception or go into town. You can drink the tap water. There is hiking, walking, nature scenes to be had in the immediate vicinity. Simply walking or biking alongside the river is such a treat. You are able to see the northern lights outside your cabin when the sky is clear and dark, no need to chase them in a car. I originally wanted to stay in a glass igloo, but they are so expensive. Here, I could look out my window and see how the sky looked, and then take a few steps outside if I wanted to see better, and that provided me with some beautiful scenes. When it's quiet, you can hear huskies barking in the distance, but it's not too loud that you are kept awake. Overall, the ambience is lovely and exactly what I came here for. Thank you for such a pleasant stay!

Everything here was so incredible. I really loved my experience being almost in the middle of nowhere, since the city centre of Ivalo is about 40 min walking. The owner and the receptionist are a plus. Such nice place and made me feel very welcomed. And I saw the Northern Lights just outside the cabin.

The location, facilities, friendly staff and overall feel for the place. Matties, his family and team are super. Our luggage was lost by Finn Air and the team ensured we had the necessary to feel at home. The team showed us around the area and played with our children in the snow. The facilities are tidy and ideal. The food was excellent and the breakfast perfect. Would highly recommend Ivalo River Camping. Thank you Matties and team - we will be back.

It was - 26 and the heater in the cabin just didn't step up to the mark. Eventually one of the staff came round with an extra quilt and an extra radiator.

I have no regrets, but our cabin didin’t have light in outside, which would be good when entry to the cabin in November. We arrived late so would be good to but heater a little higher beforehands by stuff. Otherwise u should do it by yourself in the first thing.

The place was really clean: kitchen, showers, wc and the cabin. I travelled with my brother and we had comfort beds, pillows and planket on the cabin. Even there was cold outside, we get really warm cabin, because there is a heater. There is also fridge, boiler, coffee machine and microwave on the cabin, which is good! But everything for cooking u will also find from a common kitchen. The customer service was also really kind.
