Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaI would have preferred the property a little less expensive mainly because it felt like if we don’t get to see the northern lights from up in the lake then we miss out a lot of the property. Anyway seemed like a perfect location to catch the lights so no complaints from me. It was worth it.
First of all the concept in itself is great to put a cabin in the middle of the lake and watch the northern lights. The hosts are wonderful and their willingness to share their knowledge is great for the stay.

New ZealandDidn’t see the lights as too cloudy unfortunately. Will need to go back!
Absolutely loved our stay here, was definitely a highlight of our Finland holiday. Lodge facilities were excellent, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent. Loved our cabin which was bigger than imagined, plenty of room for suitcases under the bed. Loved the experience of being towed out onto the ice for the evening, it was beautiful. Really enjoyed the wood sauna and coming out and jumping in the snow. Atte & Alexa are wonderful hosts, nothing was too much trouble. Went cross country skiing for the first time and Alexa was a great teacher. We had dinner in the grill hut on the first night which was excellent. Took a bottle of wine with us which made it just perfect.

SpainThe cabins are incredible. Dinner together with the fire was such a great experience, one of the best moments of the trip. The best thing was the staff, super friendly and helpful. The atmosphere was really good. Sauna was also another great moment, initially we were doubtful but thank god Alex encouraged us!

SwitzerlandFantastic and unforgettable experience! Atte and Alexa are incredible hosts, they make yourself feel at home and make sure you have everything you need. The location is fantastic: the base camp is far enough from the village to feel isolated but near enough to reach on foot (unless you have a lot of luggage). The trip to and back from the middle of the lake while lying on our bed was one of the highlights of our trip: amazing! The free wood-fired saun, kick-sleds, and transfers from/to the village are also a big plus.

ChinaThe house was very nice and it was very quiet on the lake at night. It was a very strange experience. The host was very welcoming, responded to all messages promptly, picked us up and dropped us off in the car, booked a delicious dinner by the stove, and experienced the sauna. We needed to leave by bus at 7am, the host pulled the hut back to the station early and cooked us a delicious breakfast, thank you very much. Unfortunately, due to the weather, we did not see the aurora. It will come again next time.

United StatesWe had a fabulous adventure at Lake Inari Mobile Cabins. The cabin was very clean and comfy, the sauna was excellent, the showers were great as well as the bathrooms. Breakfast and the snacks in the kitchen throughout the day were excellent and appreciated. We had dinner the first night in the camp fire hut, great food, and Atte and Alexa are the consummate hosts. We were fortunate that the sky cleared on our third night and we experienced the wonder of the Aurora Borealis. We also appreciated the ability to use the kitchen to make dinner on the third night, after Atte had prepared dinner for the other guests. Thank you! Be advised that when the cabin is out on the lake at night, the portable toilet in the cabin is a bit rustic, but highly functional. We also went snowmobiling and dog sledding (our favorite) while in Lake Inari. Using the Lake Inari Mobile cabins as our base camp worked out perfectly. Thank you Atte and Alexa for a fabulous stay and adventure in the Arctic circle!

United StatesI wish we had known we signed up for the smaller cabin. We would have liked a larger one but that’s no one else’s fault but our own.
We loved the entire experience. From the sauna to dinner with the host in the grill hut and wonderful conversation over breakfast with the host and fellow travelers. Loved sleeping on the lake although it was windy and no lights. Very peaceful

ItalyWe had a wonderful time at Lake Inari. People are just of incredible kindness, and if you need any help they do not hesitate to give their hands. The experience of sleeping on the lake is totally undescribable! I would strongly suggest to spend your time here and take part to Atte's running activities. Thank you guys! Hong KongIt was an extraordinary experience to be pulled to the middle of the frozen lake in the mobile cabin though I didn't have luck on the northern lights during my 2 nights stay. I enjoyed the ice-fishing and the ride on the snowmobile not to mentioned the traditional smoked sauna in the snow. The hosts were both friendly and the overall experience was fantastic.

FranceIt was an amazing experience sleeping in the cabin. Imagine being in the middle of the lake without anyone beside (except a few other guests) and able to enjoy the northern light inside a heated cabin! We liked our stay so much that it makes us want to go back again! Fishing with the host Atte was amazing! I highly recommend it and the way he cooks the fish is truly delicious.

GermanyWe stayed for two nights, and it was a wonderful experience! The team was very friendly and accommodating. The basecamp was well-maintained, very clean, and breakfast was delicious. The cabin was comfortable and had everything you need (heaters/toilets/comfy bed) to catch the aurora at night. Not to mention, trying their sauna and playing around with the kicksled was very nice! We also tried activities such as ice fishing & cross country ski, which were very rewarding & fun. Atte explained all the tips how to catch fish and what Finns do in the winter; if you caught some fish, they would be your lunch :-) Highly recommend staying with them!

ItalyIt was really great. It could be a bit better organized with places in the main building where to leave some of your stuff in a more organized way. You don't have electricity to charge devices during night in the lake.
The place is really cozy and Atte and Alexa are really kind and resourceful. You can do many activities starting just from there, they are organized with everything. We did cross country skiing and we loved it! The dinner was delicious too! The experience of sleeping under the sky full of stars is amazing (the northern lights weren't that strong when we were there). Sauna is a nice plus and facilities in general are nice. Communication was good too!

A truly unique experience in a special part of the world. From booking to check-out, the process was smooth and straightforward. Atte, Alexa, and team were responsive, organized, warm, and gracious hosts, and both the basecamp and mobile cabin were spotless and well-outfitted. Note that snow suits and boots are provided for those in need at the basecamp, along with WCs, showers, towels, and space to store any snacks/drinks you might wish to bring with you. While we unfortunately didn't have time to take advantage of any of the activities, we did reserve spaces in the grill hut for a delicious meal and terrific conversation (I'd note that for those interested in ice fishing, Atte is a skilled guide). The mobile cabins themselves were wholly original, compact yet comfortable rooms on runners. They are pulled out on the ice at 8 pm and retrieved at 8 am, giving you many quiet and peaceful hours on the lake with the lights of homes and Inari town in the distance. Our evening was mostly overcast so we saw only one hint of aurora, but one can imagine the show when the sky is clear. We wrapped our visit with a delicious homecooked breakfast back at basecamp. Big thanks to our hosts for all of their care!

AustraliaWe loved it all!
I would describe this as an experience rather than just a place to stay. Atte and Alexa have created a warm and welcoming environment where you can choose to relax, take a sauna or spend time chatting with other guests. Spending your first night on the lake is a special feeling, and if you’re very lucky, you’ll even see the Northern Lights! Nothing that we asked was ever a problem. An extra special, late night hot chocolate delivery for our daughters on New Year’s Eve was certainly going above and beyond our wildest expectations!
