Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandIt's a littel bit far from the city center, so if you are leaving early morning, you need to order a taxi, some people could find it expensive.
I liked the experience that the hotel give you, especially i was off-season, so there were no one in the hostel, but it was clean and well orgenized, you can just follow the instruction and you will be fine.

Cheap, clean, good rooms with small cabins to minimize noise from others, and give more privacy. Good kitchen.

GermanyI never experienced a hostel where they don't have at least oil and salt in the kitchen. Unfortunately I just saw that when I came back from shopping for groceries. Oil and salt is really not expensive and could be a standard to have in a hostel, even if guests are cooking themselves. You can see in the pans that many people had to cook without oil before. The hostel is quite far from the city center and there isn't really public transport. So if you don't come by car you will have to walk about one and a half hours to get to the center or catch one of the few busses. There are many papers hanging in the hostel threatening with fines if you do certain things. They seem very passive-aggressive.
The hostel was cheap in summer, I had a whole dormitory for myself, the bed was comfortable and the facilities were clean. Except for oil and salt the kitchen is well equipped. For 21 euros it was fine, wouldn't pay the regular 50 euros per night though.

United KingdomThe shower room has no barrier between the shower heads. So people ended just waiting for one person to finish showering rather than utilising the shared shower cause of the lack of privacy. There are also no key on the doors so felt like other people can just change rooms when they want to and people can easily walk in & out who may or may not be assigned to that room.
The room atmosphere is so comfortable

United KingdomThere's no locker to each bed, just a small one outside the room, also it's far from everything and the public transport from there is not very good
The beds are very comfortable (comparing to other hostels) and very private. All of them have curtains and a small space to leave the phone. Showers are very good, but they're that ones we need to press all the time, but it's warm and the pressure is amazing. Kitchen has everything you need to cook.

ItalyMaybe I would not recommend a capsule hotel if you are claustrophobic :) Be aware that the hotel is far from the Rovaniemi city center (>1 hour on foot) and buses don’t run often (esp. on weekends when the first ride to the town is at 11 am). You can walk to the Santa Claus village but it’s around 40 minutes (not recommended when it’s really cold).
Facilities are new and clean. Good value compared to other hotels that are old and costly. It’s a shared room but you don’t get just a bed you get a “capsule” with wooden walls on 3 sides and a little curtain on the last side you can pull for full privacy. There’s the possibility to self check in if you get there late. You can walk to an observation point in the nearby forest to try and catch the aurora. You can go on great walks nearby, the paths are very well kept and you can walk anywhere, the paths allow you to walk anywhere, you can even walk to the airport (consider 45-60 minutes).

United Kingdom- While hostels are good to meet people there were much older adults staying here, (married couples) and even grannies, which is quite weird- especially for young women like myself. - Corridors were so loud when people were outside talking, you can hear them walking from really far away. - The WiFi is very bad - The showers, omg, 0 privacy, you’re expected to shower next to potentially 2 others, extremely uncomfortable! The hostel really needs to add cubicles. - Some of the staff were rude, would just be on a phone call like all day taking about weird things like pregnancy when I was waiting to be spoken to (dark long hair lady). Upon checking out, I was waiting more than 10 minutes to speak to her, still ignored me despite acknowledging I was there. - You get one pillow which is bad for when you want to relax and watch something- very uncomfortable - Was charged a non refundable amount of €4 to borrow a towel
The hostel was clean with fresh sheets provided. The kitchen facilities were very good - young woman with blonde hair was really lovely and helpful - There are guides where you can read through activities on what to do in Lapland - Shop isn’t too far away, you can have very cheap meals which is good - near Santa clause village, good if you want to see Santa, bad if you don’t want to see Santa

United KingdomThere was a quiet period but it wasn't enforced people were being fairly loud outside the rooms at like 1am.
The beds in the rooms had little curtains to block light and they were kind of built into the walls like the name suggests, capsules. It made a good sense of privacy and separation while being in the same room. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. They also provide some free breakfast stuff you can use or you can make your own with the kitchen.

PolandThe kitchen was quite dirty because many people were actively using it. The biggest con is location. It is hard to get to or from the city center. There is a bus stop, but it goes really and stops running quite early. Not that many places to go around the hotel. Also, I think there should be more hangers or shelves in rooms and toilets. Luckily my bed was next to a table and chairs, so I got a little more space for my clothes than the rest of my roommates.
Clean rooms and toilets. The biggest pro is the low price. The hotel is close to the Santa Clause Village and K-Market shop. The beds are comfortable and have a practical shelf for storing your items. There are many lockers to keep your most valuable items safe.
