Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

I like the room, it was very comfortable and nicely designed. Good breakfast, you can make some activities around like we visit the elf village.

MaltaA little bit too much light outdoors at night
The resort itself is very beautiful, big and offers different types of activities. The pyramid igloos were beautiful and it was a must try while visiting Lapland.

FranceWe were so disappointed on arrival to find out the strong alley lights by the pyramids would stay on ALL Night! Whyyyy? They reflect on the roof of the glass pyramid so when you sleep you feel you have lights on.. We thought that would also damage our Aurora experience... But it did not! Aurora cannot be seen in the roof part but in the lower pyramid part (which are perfectly clear and light reflection free) The bathroom is in the entrance patio which is poorly heated and makes it quite cold to use.. In the middle of the night or when you shower. Poor signage on arrival... We looked for reception for at least 10minutes driving around. So you know : reception is the restaurant building, the first one you see when you arrive.
The pyramids are just amazing. Very well furnished and so cozy... We were incredibly lucky to have the best sky that night and we saw at least 3 auroras in 2h directly from the bed... Unforgettable! Buffet dinner and breakfast had good options, was pretty and tasteful.. Although not amazing. We had the nice surprise of finding out we could access the Elves village for Free.. What an amazing moment... We did some sliding, some ginger bread cookies making, had free hot juice etc... In such a cute little village. Great moment.

An amazing experience and we were lucky that it snowed the night we stayed which was cool to watch from bed in the pyramid. The views are amazing and a brilliant sunrise (there is no sun rise as such as it doesnt come over the horizon but the sky lights up in red and orange.

United KingdomToo less signs to show the direction of different places, and the room is a bit smaller than expect
The glass igloo is comfy and just a little bit smaller than expect, perfect size for just 2 people, but if with 1 kid extra, would be a bit small. Staff and food there are excellent, facilities are good, however, may have more signs to show the direction as we were lost on the way back to the pyramid, it was dark and snowing, a bit hard to find the correct direction

United KingdomThe light from the lamps on the pathways around the pyramid made a lot of reflection on the ceiling, so even with all our lights and our neighbours' lights off, it was a bit tricky to see the sky. But, we had a cloudy night, so it wasn't a great loss. The arrival area could benefit better signage for frazzled parents on arrival to show us what to do with our luggage and where to check in. Probably obvious to childless adults, but not so much to those with half a working brain. Also, we liked the fact we had to use sleds to push our luggage (and kids) to our pyramid, but worth noting for those with less mobility that this is the only way to get there.
In a nutshell - if the razzmatazz of Santa Claus village really doesn't appeal to you, but you want a magical, tasteful Christmas-esque experience for small children, this is perfect. We went in February, but there was still a great mix of Elvishness, magic and winter fun. Breakfast and dinner buffet was very good for the small and cosy space. Something for all, including kids. Lunch was limited in choice, but incredibly tasty and we really appreciated the Finnish dishes. We loved the quietness of the resort, the availability of sleds and kick-sleds and the incredibly magical Elves village, especially at night. We were the only families exploring the forest and village with our kids and it felt very special. We booked a magical journey with Elf 'Cinnamon' (Minna, I think) and the activities included (making bunnies, cooking gingerbread) were perfect for very small children (3, 3 and 5). Anything more 'spectacular' would have been too much. There were clearly a lot of activities for adults too, which we didn't have the chance to explore, but will come back another time to do. We spent one night in an Aurora Pyramid (cloudy night, unfortunately, so we didn't see much, but we got lucky at a different point in our trip). We thought it was wonderful - a luxury vibe in a small space. Tea, coffee, beds with remote control and a TV. If you're used to more room, it might disappoint, but for 2 adults and 1 child it was great. We really appreciated the reception area to store our stuff.

United KingdomWe have a few points: - The check-in process was unorganised. A “Check-in Here” sign would help. - At night, the outside lights around the igloos should be turned off so the northern lights can be seen. - The bedding had a few stray head hairs on, maybe from the cleaner or previous stay. - We did not get the dinner option because it seemed a bit too expensive.
- The information sheet sent before the stay is a great help. - It is a great location for the lights. - The igloos were well built, warm, great facilities and offered a great view outside of the sky. - The breakfast was tasty.

IrelandWe arrived after 5pm so was hard to navigate round not knowing where we were parking etc. Also the northern light alarm wasn't on and there was no way of resetting it as it was snoozed till the following night, but we were lucky to see them after a drive around the area when we got back. Another thing to note is that even though we were one of only 3 couples there every light was on which made it difficult to photograph the northern lights.
The accommodation was lovely and clean and well equipped. We only stayed for one night but was a lovely experience and we were lucky enough to see faint northern lights above us.

United StatesVERY VERY poor communication. Check-in process was not communicated well and unnecessarily complicated. Property advertises as having a refrigerator and TV. Yet they didn’t even bother to put batteries in the remote making it unusable. They also didn’t even plug in the fridge, and it was so wedged in, it was impossible to do it myself so that also could not be used. I emailed immediately to ask for both items to be fixed and NEVER received any response whatsoever. Did not see Northern lights during the stay but it would’ve been good if the outside lights were not on all the time, causing reflections. Temperature was freezing whenever the fan turned on. For dinner, had to drive all the way to Levi. For breakfast, the older lady at the cafe was rude and clearly did not want to be there.

United KingdomOne of the bedroom lights was malfunctioning, and the hotel staff could not fix the issue so we spent the night trying to sleep with the light on in the bedroom. We complained about the issue to hotel reception that evening, but nobody tried to call us back the next morning, apologise for the issue, and make it right. The hotel also claimed that we did not inform them that we were arriving late, so they did not save us any food for dinner. This is not true; we did inform them and they confirmed receipt of our late check-in request through email and through booking.com. This meant we went hungry, as the igloos are isolated from the rest of the hotel.
The room and the outdoor environment were beautiful! The glass igloo really does show off the beauty of the area. The bed was comfortable and furnishings were cosy.

GermanyI am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at the pyramid accommodation. Despite being excited to experience such a unique place, our expectations were not met. Upon arrival, we were informed that the outdoor lights would not affect our view of the pyramids, but unfortunately, the glass roof was exposed to too much light pollution from outside, making it impossible to have a clear view of the sky. This was a significant disappointment as it was one of the reasons we chose to stay there. (If you see the photo, it was taken with the lights-off in the room) Additionally, we were disappointed to learn from reception that the restaurant had been reserved for a function, leaving us with no options for dining. We were hoping to have a meal on-site, and it was frustrating to learn that this was not possible and there was no other restaurants nearby. We had to drive all the way to Kittila for a meal. Also, the service was non-existent as no one greeted us at breakfast. We wrote to the management to express our concerns and disappointment, but unfortunately, we did not receive a fair response. Moreover, we received conflicting information regarding dinner, with our booking confirmation stating that it would cost extra, but the management insisting that it was included (even after we showed him the confirmation that stated otherwise). Instead of accepting our confirmation as proof, he refused to acknowledge it and chose to remain stubborn. We were not satisfied with the way our complaint was handled, and it felt unfair that we paid a 329.50€ a night for an experience that did not meet our expectations. The management was more interested in being stubborn instead of giving a fair review. We were warned that if we chose to forward our complaints to Booking, he treatened to withdraw any offers. As frequent travelers, we have never encountered such incompetence from a hotel, and we feel that the management could have done more to address our concerns.
It's hard to notice anything positive after such a bad experience.

GermanyCheckIn was not easy. Normally you need to book one day before arriving, but it seems, there is a bug on booking.com. So nobody was there to give me the key and I didn't know, what to do. There was one friendly family, knowing the owner of the accomodation, called another hotel in Sirrka, were I should pick up my key card. Without them I were totally lost. To get breakfast was a bit difficult. It was again the wife, of the family, who helped me already on the day of arrival, who organized a breakfast for me. Apparently no one else felt really responsible. That was a bit pity. In my room I could not really regulate the airconditioner and 21,5 °C is too warm for sleeping. I was also not able to deactivate the airconditioner at night, so it was noisy the whole night. In my opinion it was too expensive. In that accomadation the high season is in Wintertime not in Summertime. People come here to see the northern light and taking some Winter activities.
Very nice accomodation. The sourroundings were fantastic and lovely. They have a beautiful sauna in a wooden hut with a view on the river. You can stay in a glassy Pyramid, or in one of the beautiful furnished huts or in one of the nice rooms in the hotel. The café, were you can have breakfast is big but very cosy. The owner of the complex has probably realized a childhood dream here and set up a fairy forest that you can visit.

RomaniaThere are a lot of lights near the pyramid (both in trees and outside the other pyramids) and they reflect onto the glass ceiling. Although beautiful, these lights are not helpful when it comes to aurora.
The pyramid is really beautiful, very modern and clean, with good facilities (they provide even tea and coffee). The breakfast is very good and you have a variety of food to choose from.
