Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Francethere was an issue with the electricity : it was not possible to turn the sauna on while preparing cooking (the electric cooking not the oven not the hood). and for the fireplace, it was not explained that there was another trap to be opened under the fireplace for the air to circulate. this would have been really helpful to manage the smoke we had the first day.
all was ok and very warm. and very nice place.

United KingdomIt was difficult to find, when we arrived at night it was dark and we got lost and didn’t have service. We finally got hold of Henry and he was able to direct us and help us which was great. When we arrived there was a power cut and it was pitch black (not at the fault of the owner, this couldn’t be helped) but there were no torches. We had the fire place and loads of logs and firefighters but there were no matches (empty!) or lighters with fluid in, it was all empty. None of us smoke, but luckily I had packed a lighter as otherwise we would have gotten cold. The power came back on at 3am. We made the most out of a bad situation, but think the property should have torches, and refill the matches and lighters in case. I’d agree bedding with owner ahead of stay, we had a single duvet on a double bed between two of us, we made it work but would recommend messaging and checking you have enough bedding. If you like to sleep in a dark room, only the double bed room has a blackout blind (doesn’t cover whole window), doesn’t bother us as we’re used to it, but our guest didn’t have a blackout blind and had opaque curtains so she found that harder. There’s not many people around but the bathroom window doesn’t have a blind so windows are quite open to seeing in, but honestly this didn’t bother us as there’s no one around! Overall, we had an incredible time! Thank you.
It was in the most beautiful and peaceful setting, close to ski resort (car required!) We saw Aurora here and loved being outside, we built a fire outside which was great fun. It felt so magical being in nature alone like that! The sofas were really comfy and we enjoyed making meals and playing games. There’s sledges at the property which you can use to toboggan at the ski resort. It’s so peaceful, one of the most beautiful settings we’ve ever stayed in. The road gets cleared every morning even after heavy snow. The drive is really good, clear roads and not difficult. It’s a slice of paradise. There is nothing there so make sure you buy everything you need food wise! There’s everything else required for cooking, utensils etc. huge windows around the place are great for viewing the nature!
