The independent wooden house has local characteristics, the room facilities are complete, and it is close to the ski resort, making it suitable for family travel.

There wasn't car heating socket. Few dishes were still partly unclean from earlier visitors. Bedroom's lower bed were quite narrow for 2 people. You need to bring own bed sheets or buy them for 15€ per person. Towels, sauna seat covers & dishwash towel need to be brought yourself.

Excellent location and real Finnish cabin experience. There are hotels at Saariselkä but if you want authenticy then this is your choise. Manager was nice to pop up briefly after check in to see if we had everything. Cabin has great fireplace & sauna which was little bit thight thought. Good beds and kitchen equipment.

Nothing. Maybe a few small supplies like teabags/bath soap would be nice but we really enjoyed our stay overall.

Lovely, cozy cabin with some facilities for cooking. The location was perfect. We could see the aurora from behind the cabin on one of the nights. It was also just a short 5 min walk to the supermarket and 10-15 min to the start of the national park.

The beds are solid wood slats with 4cm mattresses. My back suffered.

Very cute place with super friendly and helpful staff. Location close to everything but dark for pictures of aurora. The provided sleds were super great for tobogganing at the ski resort! The fire place is a game changer in -22°C nights

If you are staying for more than a few days, perhaps a washing machine, or laundry facility might have been useful. We just hand-washed a few bits, and dried them in the sauna.

Location - This couldn't be better. It is just outside of the lovely picturesque village of Saariselka, which has everything you need for a short stay. It is just far enough away from the village though to be quiet and private, and is in a very beautiful location. The cabin - It is a proper, very sturdy log cabin. Although it could sleep about at least 9 people, it would be comfortable with up to about 6. It has a log burner, with plenty of wood, and a kitchenette with all of the necessities. The microwave also has a grill/oven setting, but if you cook a pizza, use the top of the log burner to crisp the base before eating. The Sauna is also very good as it provides extra heat for the cabin, although you won't need it, but also can be used to dry clothes. A very cool cabin indeed.

Very well equipped, very thought over, very nicely prepared, good instructions, good location, very cute looking cabin, very good sauna. Logs prepared amazingly for fireplace. Kitchen, sauna, living room cleaned beautifully. Clean fridge and dishes.

Unreliable heating

The Lodge itself was fabtae, however, the heating was a little hit and miss in places and there weren't any firelighters or kindling to start a fire when we arrived. LOTS of wood was provided though so five stars on that front. Layout and facilities were ample for the location Sauna great View of Northern lights from lodge park amazing

The only minus during our stay was the ongoing renovations in the next door cabins, which caused some noise disturbance.

The kitchen was little underperforming with one door missing from a cupboard leaving a little uggly impression. One of cupboards was filled with leftover non-perishable food stuff from many earlier stays. Some people might appreciate having such stuff - we do not. Kitchen area could have been better cleaned up. Bathroom/sauna floor was totally cold and could not be heated. Cottage has many sleeping places, but in relation to amount of sleeping places the kitchen area with one small table and two benches was rather small to fit all eating at same time (for us two it was no problem).

Location on walk distance to ski tracks, shops and restaurants. Area was mostly occupied by families and was very silent and relaxing. We came by bus from Rovaniemi and were able to walk from the bus stop to the cottage. The wooden foot stool in sauna was broken during our stay, but was replaced with a new one very quickly when asked for. Easy to contact and get service.

Everything was just perfect, Elena and Eugene were very helpful and they helped us with Northern Lights and Huski Rides. The cabin was very well stuffed with laundry, utensils and all necessary stuff. The sauna was amazing.

we stayed in cabin 8. In one of the bedrooms, the heater was not heating up the room well enough through the night despite keeping at warmest temperature. nights in that room was freezing make the room unsuable for kids. the second bedroom was ok.

excellent location. super value for money. the price for the property is very good. our first stay in lof house - kids and family loved the cabin. we asked for extra linens at a cost of 15euros, which was necessary. the upper deck was warm without any heater which was very good. the kitchen facilities were excellent. the parking in front of house was very comfortable supermarket is walking distance; very close to ski lift the communication with host was seamless. after entering house we had difficulty in understanding how to use heater and mantlepiece - we called and immediately they sent someone and he checked and explained everything if ever i come to saariselka again, i will definitely stay here if this is available at the same price :)

The property was not very clean, mattresses and pillows were mostly stained with yellow areas and full of hair. The soap dispenser in the shower was empty. however was pur choice to use our own and not ask them to refill it. No major issues, but a bit disappointed because with a bit more cleanliness and small maintenance/adjustments the place could be a 10/10.

The atmosphere is great, the staff is nice and very accommodating/available, the self cater option is nice since you have no restrictions or time frames for meals, you just plan yourself and live it day by day. The provate sauna is a +++.

lovely cosy log cabin with sauna and log burner and well equipped kitchen. perfect for a relaxing snowy get away. location perfect as close to Saariselka but still looked as if you were in a snowy wilderness. can see Northern Lights from bed.
