Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe internet was variable..slow and kept dropping out .... We were surprised that the hotel did not have a restaurant as we might have liked to eat at the hotel on one of the nights. However, Andrea was able to recommend good options for vegetarian food.
Great location for the Camino Finisterre. Breakfast was included and excellent. Freshly squeezed orange juice prepared for each table of guests on arrival in the restaurant. The room was beautiful and had a lovely view of the harbour and small beach beside the hotel. The lady Andrea on reception was extremely friendly and helpful. Her English is excellent. The lady who prepared breakfast was also very nice and helpful.

United StatesLovely views of the ocean, located just steps from city center and many bars/restaurants. My room was incredibly clean and very quiet, and the breakfast was fantastic with many traditional options. Mary at the front desk was beyond kind and helpful and assisted in arranging for a massage in my room. Wow!! I would stay here again and again!

CanadaThis is really not a hotel, more like an Airbnb. Never saw a single staff person, no support capabilities at all. Would have expected more for the price.
Excellent downtown Finisterre location

United KingdomTold by WhatsApp the day before there would be no check in staff, keycard left out on front desk, no internal lock for the room door, as a solo female I didn’t feel safe in an empty hotel where I couldn’t bolt the door, I wouldn’t have booked if I’d known the set up. I pointed this out and was told I couldn’t have a refund so I stayed. The sea view was disappointing, v small window so overall the room felt dark. WiFi also didn’t reach my room. (TBF I think I had the worst room in the hotel). There were no facilities like bar, restaurant, it was like staying someplace that was mostly closed. Breakfast was mixed - good bread but not much else, and not enough of things for everyone to try (ie the second day there were three slices of Santiago cake and five guests).

PortugalRooms are very small (less than announced ) and have very cheap materials . The linens were not clean and there was human hair in the bed- not sure they changed the bed. Outside in front of the sea there is a big area that the municipality uses for events on weekends - loud concerts until 5AM . We contacted the manager and he first answered that the event will stop at 9PM. When we ask and told him it was all night he answered that is normal for a tourist center - we should expect that in the center! and did not answer anymore. Because it was already 23h no other places available for check in breakfast and service are hostal style but for a luxury price . It is a tourist trap . For 200€ this is not acceptable .
Only the view is nice. The young lady at the breakfast was nice. It is a tourist trap . For 200€ this is not acceptable .

Francethis is not an hotel,it is self service rooms with a very average breakfast. on street parking,a lot of steps and stairs.you really are on your own in this place.stick to the basic rooms, otherwise it is toooooo expensive. 180 euros per night with no service is well over the top. breakfast, not much choice, not much of it and nothing cooked. not at all what we were looking forward to,the room or the breakfast. pity, the place really could be brilliant.
great views.two very nice people running the place 4 hours per day. 8 to 12 in the morning.otherwise you really are on your own. a smart, stylish place, just no service,i mean none.

IsraelNo receptionist at desk, impersonal automatic check-in with code. Our room had a tiny window overlooking the water but also a rather unsightly part of the port.
Clean, central location.

AustraliaCall themselves the hotel, but it’s more self service. Reception is not manned, and after hours service is nothing short of abysmal, further owner, unable or unwilling to discuss his lack of attention to booking request that had been confirmed.

ItalyHospitality is definitely not their strong point and "no" appears to be their welcoming word: "Speak English?" "no"; "Reach the hotel by car?" "no"; "Eggs for breakfast?" "no". It did partly spoil our stay which would otherwise have been extremely enjoyable in view of the beauty of the place and the quality of the fish and sea-food proposed in the restaurants.
The location is enchanting: right on the Finisterre harbour, the building was restructured to host a modern and comfortable hotel, whilst maintaining the older external aspect. The room was very carefully decorated in different hues of blue to mirror the sea that could be seen from a rather small window. The room and bath had everything needed for the stay.
