The communication was confusing. I only interacted with the restaurant staff, who seemed not to expect us. The main room smelled very strongly of air freshener that was plugged into the wall, which we found quite unpleasant, so we unplugged it and opened all the windows and doors, which helped a lot. The next morning, we could smell something that resembled sewage drains. The managers of this property have to fix the problem, rather than try to obscure it with chemical odours.

My partner and I stayed here for just one night, on Saturday January 13, during a hiking holiday. This is a spacious flat with plenty of storage, so it would be ideal for a longer stay because you can unpack. Also because the kitchen is large but they didn't provide anything beyond equipment. This was especially a problem for us because there was nowhere open in Arure except for El Jape restaurant, which provides limited packages of food but no groceries. We had expected there to be a grocery store or supermarket with fresh produce so that we could cook our own food and prepare our own breakfast. Be aware that if you want to use the kitchen, you should be prepared to buy what you need before you arrive. The bedroom and double bed were comfortable, as was the shower room. A portable heater was provided in the bedroom but we didn't need it because the weather was perfect. What I loved the most were the potted succulents decorating the outside area. The terrace offers a wonderful view and it's a great place to watch the sunset from. We weren't bothered by any sounds at night, even though it's on the main road.

The wifi didn’t really work inside the cottage (except one corner of the living room), but there was enough reception to browse using own mobile data. There are doors between the rooms but no walls up to the ceiling so really it’s all one room :)

The apartment was an entire house with dedicated space for parking and we had a lot of space. Rooms well equipped and everything was clean. There was also direct sunlight in the morning. Ideal base to start hikes from without needing to drive far or at all.

Our timing ... the restaurant was closed when we got there (past 8pm) and also in the morning when I left (before 8) there was only Sandwich to eat ...

The main problem was that the adjacent El Jape restaurant was closed in the evenings, as were all other restaurants in Arure. Rural Gomera did have a small shop and there were a couple of other small shops but nowhere that we could find breakfast/rolls at 08.30, including the small bakery. I think we would have enjoyed an excellent couple of days at Rural Gomera if we had been able to purchase breakfast and especially evening meals anywhere in Arure, or even if we had known that this would be the case in advance. It did not help our cause that we speak very little Spanish and could not communicate adequately with the owners, who spoke very little English (this clearly our inadequacy more than theirs)

The view is excellent from the property and the adjacent terrace. The facilities are good.

We stayed in Mid February 2023, it was a bit cold in the rooms- there is a small heater and plenty of blankets. The lighting could have been better, amount of and not to dip every so often. There is a shop, Panaderia, back in the town ( only open am) best to get food there, more choice and reasonably priced. We didnt use the restaurant close to that shop but it might have been cheaper than the one next door. Bathroom could use an update.

The location of the apartment is perfect for coastal walks like La Merica and inland forest exploration to Las Hayas and beyond . The beds were very comfy, plenty of hot water. Apartment was spacious with a lovely terrace in the plants and trees, great sunset and hill views. See pic Very handy to have a shared use of the washing machine under the property.

After a horrible experience in "Casa Escuela" (in La Calera, don`t stay there) I had to find smth fast and this place was like a peaceful heaven to me. Checkin is great since reception is in a restaurant. I loved the balcony and garden in front. Apartment was equipped even better than expected with things like a blender or hair dryer. Main people wouldn't speak English, but when I had an important question about an earlier arrival they asked somebody to talk to me. I wish I stayed longer. Sunset in nearby Mirador de los Santos was my favourite experience in La Gomera.

beautiful little place, we only stayed one night as we were travelling through the area. nice view, the restaurant below is super homey with good food and exceptionally kind staff. had we had more time in La Gomera, we would have stayed there longer!

There was an aura of “rip off” here. The food prices at El Jape restaurant were not written down and were double the normal Spanish and Canary Island prices. We organised a taxi with them to go 14 Km and thought it was to be 15 Euro but turned out to be 50 Euro. The taxi driver was obviously working in cahoots with them. Beware!

The room was fine and the people seemed helpful it beware, they are overcharging people

It was dirty and there was old blood stain on one towel. A lot of long black worms coming to the house from outside. It was a bit cold, but the only electric heater had a damaged cable, hidden behind the cupboard.
