Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Beautiful hotel in a lovely piece of the Galician countryside. It’s a family business run by 3 generations of the family. Grandma is the chef and cooked the most wonderful food. The granddaughter and her mum run the hotel and are incredibly friendly and helpful. Wonderful stay for my wife and I walking the Camino Norte.

United KingdomThe only thing that marred my stay is the dogs on the property and on all the properties nearby barked incessantly all night long. I finally put on some pink noise to drown out the sound (works for snorers and dogs!), but my hope for a restful sleep out in the country was a bit shattered. Nothing the owners can do about barking dogs, but bring your ear plugs….
The owners are lovely, the place is gorgeous and the food is wonderful! Easily accessible from the Camino (about 4km detour) although the owners offer a shuttle service if you stay for more than one night. Highly recommend.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful stay at Bi Terra. It's the perfect place to stay for 2 or 3 nights while walking the Camino. The owners are very welcoming and friendly, and the building and the area is beautiful. The breakfast was good, but the dinner was fantastic!

United StatesWe chose Bi Terra tu descanso as a two-day rest stop along the Camino Norte, as a way of connecting with rural Spain more closely. Bit of a gamble, potentially, since it required mapping an alternate route than the camino guides, but so worth it! The transformation of this former farmhouse into a restful, perfectly appointed, hotel with truly enough space to completely unwind is amazing, and so worth the journey. Turns out the family that runs this extraordinary place is also dedicated to bringing local food to a level we simply didn't experience anywhere else in Northern Spain. The dinners were amazing, including the best vegetarian food we had in Spain. Everything was perfect.

Beautifully restored 300 yo Galician farmhouse with spacious rooms and spa bath. Lovely garden to have an evening drink in after a long day on the Camino. Hosts were very hospitable and helpful. Transport provided to and from Camino by hosts for €35. Dinner and breakfast on site.

United KingdomStopped here on the Camino Norte. It’s a bit of a detour from the Camino itself, although they do make that clear when you book. What they do however offer is to pick you up and deposit you back on the Camino if you are staying for a couple of nights. That way you could walk for 3 days without your pack ! Not something you might usually do. However, the setting of the hotel and the restaurant make it more than worthwhile. Without doubt my best Camino dining with local wine and great value. Hotel itself has been beautifully renovated over many years in an understated style. Very quiet and guaranteed a good night sleep.

CanadaThis was one of our favorite stays on the camino! Nerea and Javier (and the dogs) were wonderful hosts and so helpful and pleasant. We stayed 3 nights and took advantage of the shuttle (which is usually a family member) from Baamonde and then Miraz and Sobrado. This was a perfect way to break up this stretch of the hike. the hotel is located in a remote rural area off the camino in a beautifully restored farmhouse and the atmosphere was great for meeting other travelers. When being dropped back in Baamonde we were told of a "complementario" route which was far better than the ordinary route out of Baamonde. Before booking this hotel I had read a review which said something like "you have no other choice so they overcharge for the meals." So I want to respond. The meals are slightly more expensive than the standard menu del dia. But the quality far exceeded the standard dinners. So the food in my opinion is reasonably priced. The food served in the restaurant was fabulous and some of the best of my journey!
