No snack bar near swimming pool had to walk all the way round , evening menu was not really stated for uk travellers ordered state but got pork , no one at bar for coffee in afternoon

The evening meal was below par staff were not helpful or accommodating. Ordered 3 steaks and they came one every ten minutes so we could not eat together and they were not cooked to our requested specification. (In previous years stays you had a set menu which was very good) Breakfast no one asked about allergies my daughter could not eat the fruit platter because she has an allergy to nuts (fruoto seco) which were touching half of the platter. I asked for a hard boiled egg and got refused (in previous visits I had no problem)

Breakfast...the food itself was fine if not a little pretentious, but the service lacked a welcome, was slow and left the customer wondering where to sit, how to get a coffee etc. When we arrived in the breakfast restaurant we weren't welcomed or greeted in any way. Eventually, without as much as a smile or an 'hola' we were pointed towards a table and left there. It took a further 10 minutes for me to finally get the attention of a waitress to bring us coffee, which took a further 10 minutes. Eventually orange juice arrived. There was no cereal selection, no muesli etc and no offer. Nobody tried to make us feel welcome or to explain how the breakfast buffet worked. In fact there was no buffet. It was just a 'make your own toast' facility which had no instructions. Croissants were brought to our table and set before us without as much as a smile of an excuse me. This was poor service and unfriendly service for a four star hotel. We had stayed in a 4 star the night before in Baeza and had a much better breakfast experience; in fact everything about the breakfast was better in Baeza. This breakfast experience let the hotel down and needs to be addressed. At one point an older man, who looked like a restaurant manager etc came out into the breakfast restaurant, so I tried to get his attention. He rudely saw my raised hand and pointed to a waitress and walked off; not good. I left breakfast feeling dissatisfied by what was potentially a 5 star experience but was undermined by this whole breakfast experience! The ensuite shampoo/shower gel supplied was cheap, difficult to open without breaking your teeth in the absence of scissors and was in short supply. We arrived after a 3 hr city walking tour and needed a shower. We showered again after we had been to the pool and had then run out of shower gel/shampoo. Again you would expect more from a 4 star property. The shampoo/shower sachets were almost impossible to open.

This is a quality accommodation. The hotel has a modern classic feel and deserves its 4 star rating. The rooms are spacious with excellent beds which are medium to firm. Pool area is clean and good variety of beds and sun parasols provided. Breakfast was included, but staff in breakfast were both unhelpful and service was dreadfully slow. The barman was a really friendly and warm young man who made us feel so very welcome. He was the best staff member we met. I also want to note that the two receptionists, both on arrival and departure, were lovely, very helpful and very welcoming. They gave you confidence that your experience would be a good one and that your custom was valued. Hotel foyer area is beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and welcoming. Rooms were also very clean and had great aircon to keep you cool in mid summer temperatures of 34/35 mid afternoon.

We regretted that we had chosen half board. The dinner was terrible. It can not be the same chef that has chosen the breakfast style because the quality was so different. We chose two different first courses and two different second courses and one dessert and it all tasted of nothing or bad. So eat your dinner somewhere else!!! There is a walking distance to city center.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing. A wide selection of fruit, ham, sausages, cheese, salmon, anchovies, tomato were brought to your table. Also croissants, juice and coffee were served to your table. Only the bread should you pick up at a separate table. We have never had a better breakfast. The hotel is very beautiful and classic four star hotel with beautiful marble floors and staircase in the ground level. On upper levels there are carpets that reduces the noise in the aisles. Extravagant flower wallpaper on one floor. Our room 201 had wooden floor and a really nice bed and decor. Really good parking behind the hotel with possibly of secure parking in indoor.

Dinner was very disappointing. Food had to be returned .. Cold food first time and then a basic vegetable dish with a bone in ☹️ No veggie options. Both puddings frozen solid including a cake. Breakfast limited. Nothing cooked. We had. to ask for water ☹️Only one coffee offered. Boxed orange juice in Spain? Poor rating for sustainability.. Too much plastic with many missed opportunities compared to other hotels that we have stayed in recently.

In the wintertime, the common areas were very cool. Had a small sawdust powered fireplace that did not keep the area warm. I paid for the parking option, but the garage door never opened when i needed it. Ended up luckily finding one of the few spaces to park.

Had the half board option and meal was limited to a few choices but served the purpose. Had paid parking and on the street parking available.

Everything was perfect.

Fabulous spacious room. Super comfy large bed. Quiet. Great view with small balcony. Underground secure parking. It's 15 - 30 mins walk into the old town but after a day's driving, you need the exercise!
