Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The apartment is nice, clean and prepared with all the things you might need. The mattress is really comfortable and we had 2 types of pillows. It has a supermarket and a farmacy on 30sec walk. The metro station is 3 minutes away. Pedro is a really nice guy. He prepared a lot of guidance for us and he was available to help us in case we needed it. I can’t recommend this apartment enough. We will book it again when we will come back to Madrid.

Everything! The apartment was fully equipped and very comfortable. The owner was extremely helpful, he sent me all information on how to get there and the information about public transport to go to the city centre. He even sent the instructions for the appliances, so everything was extremely straight forward. I highly recommend it.

South AfricaThe location may not be perfect for a one-night stay, should you be visiting Madrid for tourist attractions. But if you were staying for longer, and able to use public transport, the location will be fine.
This is an excellent apartment to stay in. Very luxurious in terms of facilities and furniture. Kitchenette is equipped with absolutely everything you could need for a longer stay as well. Pedro is extremely helpful and generous.

United KingdomThere was nothing we disliked. Just a piece of information however, the metro does not start running until 6 am. We had a train booked to Valencia from Madrid Atocha at 6.30 am which necessitated us having to arrange a taxi to catch it. Having spoken with Pedro regarding this it was obvious that this was going to be only way to guarantee getting to Atocha on time.
The apartment was easy to locate using Google maps, about a 15 minute walk from Estrecho metro on Line 1 which we were able to utilise at Madrid Atocha train station. There is a nearer metro to the apartment however it means you have to make line changes to get there, we were happy to spend the 15 minutes walking. Line 1 also gives direct access with no changes to Madrid Centre. On arrival we made a quick telephone call to Pedro the host and within a couple of minutes he arrived and showed us into the accommodation. It was difficult to work out which was the apartment on arrival from the street however once inside the accommodation it was apparent that it was very modern, new, clean and well equipped. Pedro provided us with any information we needed and was always on hand to help. We thought that it was a great base to explore Madrid as we could return to normality away from the hustle and bustle at night. There are scores of restaurants nearby all local and reasonably priced. Thank you Pedro.
