Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandWhen it came to the room, the noise is horrible since there is infact a nightclub beside the hotel. But luckily couldn't hear any music but people being loud outside. So if you're on any lower floors, id definitely recommend ear plugs. Or even if ur on the side where you can see the street.
The staff were lovely, especially our receptionist! Always saying good morning, etc.... The breakfast was nice in my opinion, but if you're someone who likes a hot breakfast then unfortunately they only serve cold breakfast. (From what I remember you can only toast your bread). Other than that it was lovely. I definitely recommend the fresh orange juice from breakfast, it was so so good. Room wise, it was alright. My friend and I didn't mind the room at all. We were on the second floor and we had a terrace which gave us a lovely view of the la rambla street!

CanadaDuring our visit there were problems with the second elevator, which sometimes made getting luggage to the upper floors a bit challenging. One of our rooms had three beds, which could be handy but also made that room difficult to navigate. A bathroom ceiling also made an odd noise when the door was being closed, like a loose fitting panel that was too loud to comfortably use at night. All in all, room for improvement, but nothing that would prevent us from returning.
The highlights here are the location, the staff, and the breakfast. Check-in was very easy with friendly, positive staff. Once settled, you're right in the heart of town. The hotel is directly on La Rambla and very close to Palau Güell, a highlight of our trip. The large dining room and well stocked breakfast was a perfect way to start the day. Rooms can be quite large and have good views, but those vary around the property.

United KingdomAlready mentioned.
Overall marking would have been excellent but our room - number 109 - looked onto Las Ramblas where loud noises from the huge crowds continued until after 5am.. We had very little sleep.as a result. We are 78 years of age and perhaps the room was not ideal for us. We also stayed in the hotel in September 2023 and everything was perfect.

United StatesBathroom toilet was poorly accessible-I had to step up two steps to get to it. The shower sprayed water all over the floor and onto my clothes that were lying next to the tub.
The location was right on the Ramblas. The complimentary breakfast was good. Lots of choices. The hotel provided us with a take away breakfast when we departed early for the airport.

Bosnia and HerzegovinaI was aware of hotel disadvantages, I saw that some rooms are modern and some not. My room was not renovated, but it wasn't so bad, it was clean. I missed bathroom hangers, iron and kettle, that would make my experience better.
I liked to hotel, terrace was absolutely amazing! I chose this hotel because of the terrace view and it met expectations. Location was great, hotel is at Rambla street and I liked it. Breakfast is ok, good enough. Staff is really polite. There is a storage room that you can use for free and 2 euros charge if you want lockers, what is affordable. In general I was happy with my choice.

RomaniaWhen we arrived the floor was not cleaned - there were hairs and mud on the floor. Over our one week stay, even though they fixed the bed daily and changed towels, they never cleaned the floor. You cannot walk with no shoes on, disgusting. The room has no mirror, no hanging spots for clothes, though it was a nicely decorated room. We noticed the same dirty and sticky floors in the lobby and restaurant. Probably a no-vacuuming policy? The doors cannot be closed without slamming due to the closing system, you will hear all your neighbours coming in and out. Breakfast was ok-ish, no changes from day to day and quite few options. No eggs available. The restaurant was very cold, though the rooms were nice and warm. The free liluggage storage room will tax you 2 euros if you use the locker and no one tells you it advance.
Perfect location, on the Rambla, close to Old Town, metro station. Basically, you can walk to most attractions. We booked a terrace room and it was worth the money. The building itself is spectacular.

United KingdomWe were a bit disappointed that although there was a fridge in the room, there were no tea/ coffee making facilities or any refreshments. We were very happy to buy a coffee at the bar downstairs though and were able to bring this up to the room. I had not comprehended just how noisy it would be at night and how much Barcelona comes to life at night! There is a club below the hotel that seems to be open until 06:45am and although we were not disturbed by music, there was plenty of lively/ friendly hubbub throughout the night. In general, La Rambla is a thriving part of Barcelona at night though so im assuming this would be the case wherever you stayed, in the area. We visited in Feb and had no need to open the windows so this didn't bother us too much and being so high up (floor 6) we were not disturbed too much by the sounds but I imagine this could be a little problematic if on the lower floors, if you were wanting/ needing a lot of sleep. We soaked up the atmosphere and just took it as part of the character of the city and the experience so it was not a problem.
Loved the location central to La Rambla and within easy walking distance to the Metro and the Gothic Qtr/ beach. There were many shops and restaurants in the surrounding streets and beautiful buildings very close near by. Staff were friendly and the hotel was clean and nicely kept. I am aware that we were potentially in a more newly decorated room and, though simple, the decor was modern and clean. Reviews we had read suggest that maybe not all the rooms are in the same design. We had a wonderful view from room 605, overlooking the street and could even see Sagrada Familia in the distance. Breakfast was continental with a number of buffet style options available (cold meats, cheese, cereals, pastries/ bread and a nice selection of fresh and tinned fruits) and the coffee was really good. I did notice they also provided soya milk in the fridge. We had no problem filling up on food before heading out for the day.
