Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

MaltaAs far as the hotel is concerned there is nothing which could have been better. And then about three hundred metres away there is the Ramblas de Libertade with some exquisite eateries.
Oh! This was a wonderful surprise with just three minutes away from the main site of the city - the Cathedral. The staff was simply excellent, ready to give their all to make you comfortable. They even found a way how to solve my problem when they were informed that I was going to be late at the hotel as there was a flight delay to Barcelona and then a train delay from Barcelona to Malta. No! I shall never forget this welcome. And then, I expected a continental breakfast but instead this was a full one which made me skip lunch.

United KingdomIt was rather annoying to constantly have to lock the front door.
Location is in the old part of Girona, close to the cathedral in a very historical building. There is very limited traffic as the roads are narrow ,so it is quiet but you may be disturbed by the bells! The staff were very friendly and offered refreshments on our arrival which was a nice touch. Breakfast was very good with nice fresh fruit.

Excellent location in the old town, easy walking distance of good bars, restaurants, shops, museums and the cathedral. Our room was lovely and the bed was huge and very comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. We arrived early and left late so they let us leave our bags in reception which meant we could explore unencumbered! The owners and staff were all very friendly - we’ll definitely be back to Girona and will absolutely stay at Pensìo Bellmirall again!

Netherlands-
It was the second time I stayed at Pensió Bellmirall. It is an attractive guest house in an old building next to Girona Cathedral. The rooms are comfortably furnished while retaining authentic details. The staff is flexible and service-oriented. Especially enjoy breakfast. I really liked that there was an opportunity to have tea (an extensive selection) and coffee day and night in the room at the entrance. My spotless bathroom/toilet was in the hallway. A bathrobe was provided.

United KingdomAccessing the property on foot sometimes involved quite a steep hill and steps so it might not suit everyone. Access to my room was also up some steep staircases so again just something to be aware of. Bathrooms and rooms were a little dated but had everything you needed and were very comfortable.
The property was well located within the centre of Girona, an easy walk from most places on interest. The staff were excellent and provided very detailed check in information for my late arrival ensuring there was no hassle on the day. The breakfast provided was excellent and overall the stay was great value for money.

United KingdomMy welcome at the accommodation was brilliant, Margarita was so lovely, offering me water, helping take my bags up to my room, taking me and my motorbike round the corner to the secure garage, for no extra charge. The single room was small, but as described, with my own sink, the biggest towels I've ever seen and slippers and a bathrobe. The bed was so comfortable and I had the best nights' sleep of my trip. You could hear the next door room plugging things in and unlocking their door, but this was minimal. I had booked a shared bathroom but this was only with one other room. The shower was very hot and powerful. The location is fabulous, very close to the Cathedral, city walls and all the other sights. Breakfast was simple but tasty - fresh fruit, cold meats and cheese, toast made for you with tomatoes or butter on top, croissants, orange juice. The breakfast room was available all day with treats and tea/ coffee
