Do NOT book if your body size is above average, I could barely fit in the WC and I'm average. No space for legs. The stairs to the 4th floor are uneven and small, beware if you are not fit or with any mobility difficulties.

Location is great, 15 min from atocha and 15 min from Calle carretas.

Was very dated in decor but absolutely spotless so no complaints.

The owner was very kind and locked my bike securely for me. He then woke up at 6.00 am to get the bike for me as I was getting an early train. Couldn’t have asked for a nicer person to deal with.

Simple clean accommodation that is located very close to Reina Sofia and Parque del Buen Retiro, as well as Estación Atocha. Great for 1 night transit.

No lift and this pension is not recommended for those have mobility issues.

The room that I got, have a small balcony and able to open to get some fresh air and when closing, doesn't heard much sound in the night from the street except doors opening and keys turning from next-door. And plus point is there's sink in the room, cos this is a share bathroom and toilet. Gladly, have hairdryer but need to ask for it, beside there's also Alcampo Supermarket nearby. The location is good and able to walk to most places without taking public transport and not too far from train stations.

Basic but very clean, central pension. Owner very obliging regarding luggage, left all day before and after I stayed. Room small, single bed, but quiet. 5 minutes walk from Atocha station.

The room was very small and we were unable to control the temperature. The shared bathroom was ok, but the word 'hostel' in NZ means a shared living area where you can chill out and maybe talk to other travellers. This isn't available here.

The best thing about this hostel was the location. Literally 5 minute walk from the main train station, where you can buy a metro card to access all of Madrid. Many of the places we wanted to see were in easy walking distance and the bonus was there are fantastic restaurants and taverns in all the little alley ways around the hotel.

The stairs were an obstacle, but I managed. I wouldn't buy an appartment on the fourth floor without elevator. But for a few nights, it was acceptable.

We needed a room in the proximity of the Atocha railway station. And we got that. We hoped for a working wifi. Which was provided. We wanted a balcony for the smoker, and we got one (albeit small).

Everything was great. Especially the hosts are increadibly freindly. One feels realy welcome. The place is easy to reach and perfect for a quick stay. The room was small but perfectly clean. Don't expect luxury. There is no elevator in the building but it wasn't a problem for me.

The walls are thin and voices from the neighboring room or the corridor are a bit loud. The night was calm however since the windows are well insulated.

The location is wonderful and the owner is a kind and thoughtful person. We had chosen this place as a budget option and it was inexpensive, comfy and clean. I would stay again!

The AC worked well and instantly cooled the room down. I had a tough time figuring out the best way to have it on comfortably during the night. It was either blowing on our faces constantly or we had to have it off--and neither was very comfortable. My friend didn't have any issues though!

Location was great for visiting the tourist sites. It was a ~20 minute walk to San Gines with a slight uphill. And just a ~4 minute walk to Kapital (one of the hottest clubs in Madrid). The host was great--he helped us with our bags, provided luggage storage, and accommodated us when our flight was delayed 3 hours (making our check-in time close to 3am). The host put us in a room with our own shower and that made it very comfortable. When you're used to hostels, a small shower in your own private room is a luxury! The 4 flights up is a bit rough but if you're used to walking around cities and museums and hiking, it'll be doable.

Excellent location, easy check in, friendly and helpful staff. Not fancy, but clean, quit and comfortable . Location perfect for exploring Madrid. Close to Prado, and Ritiro park for lovely evening walks.
