Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very clean, surprising powerful hair dryer in the bathroom. Tea kettle with tea, coffee, water and some muffins were offered in the room. Easy check-in

Lovely woman looked after our room. The room was very clean. The bed was a basic double but we slept well. We felt very safe and secure. The key system worked like a charm. Excellent location near restaurants, museums, shopping and the waterfront in the old city. It was an easy walk to the bus station.

AustraliaIt was very noisy due to all of the revellers in the street below and I could clearly hear a conversation coming from somewhere within the pension at around 7:00 in the morning The overlay flooring squeaked badly.
Its location was fabulous. The room was very comfortable and well set up. Communication regarding access was very well done.

United KingdomPeople should know that, at the weekends, there are lots of groups in the streets drinking and talking loudly till really late - 4am last Saturday. The owners thoughtfully provide earplugs, so they do what they can. The room could do with a bit more shelving space.
I loved the central location. The room was small but adequate. The bed was comfortable. I liked having a kettle in the room. The key system worked really well. I was well greeted by the owners.

IrelandSingle room is too small for one person in my opinion and it was hard to sleep the first night as you can hear people moving in other rooms and in floors above you - was quite loud the first night and really disturbed my sleep but the second night was ok.
Staff were super nice, friendly and helpful and it was super clean.

SpainBars and restaurants with noise/ food smell until 1 am. No AC, just a fan so warm and pillow not comfortable. The room is right above a laundrette so machine noise/ vibrations wakes you up in the morning.
Location is great with payed parking close. Nice with coffee/tea maker on room and every day cleaning. Bed comfortable to sleep.
