Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesStrangely this hotel lacked 2 important and standard things: 1-no coffee maker in the room, like all hotels. 2-Windows with no screens. As someone who gets severe allergic reactions to mosquitos, we had to keep the windows closed even though the outside temperature was not too hot nor cold, which wasn't great since I'm not a huge fan of sleeping with the air conditioner.
Beatiful grounds, the rooms felt more spacious than in the photos and exceeded expectations.

United KingdomOur main complaint was the lack of outdoor space - something highlighted by numerous others reviewers. The only open air dining space is a small terrace of about 12 tables at the Los Abades restaurant… you need to be there very promptly when the restaurant opens to be lucky to get one. The cafeteria is entirely indoors with a few tables in a glass- enclosed section of the cloister, and the menu is poor. We ate lunch at the nearby parador in Montforte de Limos one day and the food there was way better. The lack of outside space is the main drawback of this fabulous hotel, it feels a bit claustrophobic as there is no real space to relax outside of your own room , except one small covered terrace with about three sofas.
Stunning property in an amazing location with spectacular views over the Sil river canyon. Spacious, well appointed rooms and the whole place oozes history and atmosphere. A unique experience. We are in the Los Abades restaurant both nights and thought the food excellent.

United KingdomFelt slightly impersonal as living in a museum. Road to the Parador, not for the feint hearted!
Experiencing an historic location. The quality of the decor. The surrounding woodland and the beauty of the building and courtyard. Parking was good.

DenmarkThe restaurant is not impressive and you have to go quite far at night for an alternative.
We liked the spacious rooms and the view. There is a small lounge area with a fantastic view of the forest and river and if you are into bird spotting it is a great place to listen to their fascinating sounds in the late evening.

United KingdomAside from a small first floor terrace there is nowhere to sit outside and enjoy the outstanding surroundings, which was a real disappointment. I think there could have been some more options for casual eating too - the restaurant is very formal.
A truly majestic experience. The room was huge and very quiet - the whole place is extraordinarily peaceful. The spa is fantastic.

United StatesI wish there was an easier way of getting here other than private car.
We loved the beautiful setting and views as well as the thoughtful way the renovation preserved the ancient while merging with the modern. The rooms were very comfortable and spacious and each one was unique. We had two rooms and one of them had the huge original stone fireplace. I loved looking out the window in my room at the valley while sitting on the old stone bench the monks must have used for contemplation. Another example is the spa which used to be the wine cellars. The meals we had at the restaurant were superb. There is no reason to leave the Parador to eat elsewhere. Wandering the grounds outside the cafeteria revealed the ancient bread ovens, stone walls and garden. Walking through the monastery revealed how the monks lived and it was so interesting. Parking was tough but not unexpected for such an old structure.

AustriaDinner starts at 20:30 which is too late for non-Spanish guests, an earlier slot would be highly appreciated (but that is true for the entire country ;-). Sitting options at the Cafe in the evening in the courtyard are quite limited. Spa costs of 35€ are a bit high for hotel guests for my taste.
The Parador itself is just great; renovated monastry, renovated with a good feeling integrating old and newer parts, surrounding landscape just beatutiful, divers options for hiking (those directly at the monasatry are not the best, though, and you need to dig through the various options yourself to find the most suited for you), Spa is small but nice.

United StatesThe superior rooms had great mountain views but some rooms were right over the delivery area that we found sleep challenging in the morning…fortunately we were able to get our room moved. The restaurant menu, with great service, was the same for lunch and dinner with a relatively small selection of (tasty) entrees…if you are there for one or two nights it is fine but by the 4th day it got a bit repetitious for us. But don’t let either of these comments keep you from visiting this Parador because you would be cheating yourself out of a wonderful experience.
What a history rich and ambiance rich Parador…the superior room was spacious and comfortable…we weren’t in good enough shape to hike the loop trails to the river but we hiked two trails right outside the Parador door that offered fantastic views, wild flowers and historic remnants (e.g. an old mill, an intact chestnut roasting hut, a 6th century fortress)….the restaurant and cafeteria service and quality of the food were solid (the cafeteria provided the salad rich in greens that we had been craving)…the walk behind the parador was history rich and the perfect stroll after a hearty meal…We also enjoyed our day of checking out the area monasteries, churches and towns…No shortage of things to do!!
