Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomToilets in the lobby weren’t open and staff weren’t particularly helpful or friendly unlike the Parador de Granda where they couldn’t be more welcoming and helpful.

United StatesThe dinner is outdoor so we have ants and bugs on the table.
The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are comfortable. Both dinner and breakfast are good. It is next to Alhambra but a little away from the town. We used uber and it is convenient and not expensive.

United KingdomThe very steep hill down to the town!
The location was superb, within the Alhambra complex, so very easy to visit the alcazabar, Nasrid palace and Generalife gardens. It was wonderful to walk in the gardens of the hotel in the evening when the tourists had gone. The service was very good, the rooms were comfortable, the breakfast was delicious and we loved most of all the peace and quiet, to hear the birds sing and to smell the perfume of the flowers.

AustraliaJust to mention that on arrival at reception, I was encouraged to upgrade my room to a suite at an additional cost of €600 by one staffer….he then dropped price by few hundred euros when I declined. Was uncomfortable and unwelcome pressure. My booked room was perfect.
Beautiful gardens, courtyards and outside dining terrace with wonderful views. A spacious well decorated room with gorgeous views of Lilly pond. Staff at restaurant and most staff at reception were wonderful. Location brilliant.

United StatesIt was very challenging to find by car. The breakfast buffet was awkwardly placed in a tight corner, making accessing the food difficult. Service at dinner in the main dining room was very awkward. When we first arrived, staff took our orders promptly. However, no staff checked to see if food was OK, or if we wished to order more drinks or dessert. The process at the end of the meal for settling the bill was not communicated and turned into a long bungled process of correcting the bill.
Location was unparalleled, directly adjacent to the Alhambra. Rooms were very clean and the bed was very comfortable. Food quality and selection at breakfast were great. We enjoyed a very pleasant lunch outside on the terrace.

United StatesThe AC was not working and it was warm/hot. But as the evening wore on, the room cooled and it was better.
Location, location, location. Can’t be beat. Great to walk around the Alhambra “after hours”. Beautifully updated property to boot. Much more modern than most paradors.

JapanThere was nothing particularly bad about it. I would say it was a little disappointing that the restaurant menu was the same day and night. However, I was satisfied with the quality of the food.
The hotel is located next to the Alhambra, making it a great location for visiting the Alhambra. The building is old as it is a Parador, but the inside is very clean and well kept. The staff was also very kind and made my stay very comfortable.

Thailand1) Minor, but I couldn't pay for my room with cash because we booked 2 rooms (my friend's room & mine) so there was just 1 bill, and even when our separate charges were below 1,000 EUR but because the total bill was over 1,000 EUR, I had to use my credit card to pay. 2) Breakfast was very "so so". The hot "to order" breakfast choices weren't good, they certainly were NOT made to order, more like they were already made & in the kitchen waiting to be served - my Spanish omelette was hard & cold, I expected more from the Parador.
Liked the location although I note that there was at least 1 other hotel within the vicinity of the Alhambra, so the Parador isn't the only one BUT the views from the Parador (from the bedrooms & from the outdoor terrace) are fantastic. Good size bedrooms, satisfactory amenities, nice bathroom with bidet directly opposite the toilet (I usually note them aligned side by side in other places), lovely building & outside garden, a tranquil place to enjoy the sights. A one night splurge to be close to the Alhambra was good.

NetherlandsIt is absurd that you spend € 1,000.00 per night for a room and that you don’t automatically have tickets to visit the Alhambra. We had to spend half a day to find a VIP agency and Aguilera to manage to get tickets.
