Mattress was extremely hard, so didn't sleep well. Noise in hallway, from lobby and from rooms below woke me early both mornings, but quiet at night.

Convenient location in nice historic neighborhood. Loads of unique, historic character to building and room. Our windows overlooked plaza. Room was large.

    A bar at hotel

I made this booking because it was neat airport and had NO idea of the medieval historic charm it had. Obispo is in the thick of town and walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. We stumbled upon a gem!!

Having to walk up three flights with and without luggage, although given the chance they will carry your luggage. Still worth it if you are able!

Cozy, charming and comfortable room. Excellent breakfast. Wonderful staff. Great location.

Coffee/tea making inside the room would have been nice.

We loved this hotel. Huge room, great bath, huge soft towels, big comfortable bed and great breakfast. Perfectly luxurious. Just like someone else said, why pay more for a Parador? We locked our bikes outside and they were fine. Others took their bikes inside.

Not such a Palace in Hondarribia

Unfortunately the en-suite is not up to standard. It is old-fashioned and had numerous cracked tiles, filled with sealant. The shower curtain support was also rickety. This is an expensive hotel by Spanish standards. We had arrived from the Catedrale Hotel Pamplona, which was superb and 50 euros cheaper than the Palace. It is simply not good enough to have such poor facilities.

The hotel is perfectly located in the old part of Hondarribia. The staff are excellent and the rooms have a wonderful historic feel.

Wonderful location in a medieval village and character building. Staff were amazing - very helpful. One of us were not well and the staff went out of their way to help us with changes to our travel arrangements. Breakfast was fantastic and the room super comfortable. Great restaurants in the village.

There is no access for people with limited mobility, there are narrow stairs to access everything (main entrance, rooms, and breakfast area) yet being a historical site it might be difficult to adapt the building without losing its charm.

I liked the location, the staff, the rooms and the building. Despite being at the core of the historical city centre, it is a very quiet place. My family and I got rooms with lovely views to the plaza and church. I certainly would return if I have the chance. The staff at reception was very attentive and recommended a great place to have dinner.

Arrival directions and a map or aerial photo would be helpful as Google Maps and Waze get confused.

This former grand residence is now a comfortable small hotel. Nice location on high ground at the edge of the old city. That makes it convenient and quiet. One side of the hotel looks out over a town square which has restaurant dining until 11pm or so. There are two bars here as well which are lively from 6pm. The stone structure and solid windows allow outside noise to be closed off to allow sleeping. Outdoor dining in the square is a treat so plan one night there. The other side of the hotel looks out over the airport, the river and France on the opposite shore. Second floor rooms on this side have generous balconies that allow easy enjoyment of view. In late July there seemed to be 2-4 jet airline flights per day. Not much. I love airplanes so these landings and takeoffs were a treat. Don’t worry about airport noise interrupting your sleep or your peace and quiet. Below the hotel on this side is a nice city park and playground and another 10 minutes of walking gets you to a laundry and a large grocery store. The bathroom is large with modern fixtures that work efficiently. Bidet too. The WiFi was OK. It needed to be reset a few times and the on-site staff was not tech savvy so relied on outside contractors with scheduling delays. Cell service signal was medium strong as a backup internet access point. Lobby signal always worked so downloading in the adjacent lounge area always worked. Electric wall outlets were adequate, better than most EU hotels of this size. Bedside outlets worked well. Enough light to read a book at night. Good quiet sleeping with shutters closed and windows shut. The breakfast was well worth it. Staff was friendly and solicitous and made to order coffees and eggs were delicious. Outside patio was my favorite breakfast table. Lots of choices in the buffet. Fresh fruit, meats, cheeses, cereals, juices. Delicious. Location worked well.

The stairs are difficult for older people. Have a light travel case to lug up the stairs. A lot of history, built in late 1400s.

Hotel Palacio Obispo is located in a beautiful medieval palace, right in the heart of the historic old town of Hondarribia. A small hotel with only a dozen or so rooms, the staff are friendly and helpful and with great restaurants and bars close by, it's a great base for exploring this stretch of the Basque coastline
