Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United StatesWe enjoyed our stay for 1 night, the rooms are tight but we also knew this going in since it was very affordable especially being so close to everything. We stayed elsewhere about 4 minute walk away and paid triple the amount, so if you could manage the smaller room and want to save and be at a clean facility near everything this is it!

United KingdomIt was a little difficult to leave our bags at the hotel (as our flight was not until the evening) there was only one member of staff who was also checking people in and out whilst trying to help us put our bags in the store room. Also, the taxi driver who the hotel booked to take us to the airport was appalling, we literally nearly crashed 3 times, I realise that this is not the hotel’s fault but we have nowhere else to flag up this issue

Australiahouse keeping only completed 1 day out of four night. no coffee sachets and only peppermint tea. most reception staff were good. had difficulty communicating the importance of correct invoices with one particular staff member. bathroom door was glass so if you needed the bathroom access overnight you woke the other person in the room with the light.

AustraliaThe wifi was very frustrating in that it kept disconnecting when you left the hotel, and you had to remember to reconnect, it wouldn't prompt you.
Great location right near La Rambla, La Boqueria Markets, and the Gothic Quarter. Very busy when we went in August with lots of tourists but was a great vibe in the town. The hotel has a rooftop area for use (although no views) and has an ice machine which we used every day to fill up our water bottles (it was very hot). The room was clean and comfortable and suited us well.

Beautiful, great value, very clean rooms with very cool Air conditioner in the hot summer. Showers had hot Water and hotel was safe and elegant. Some staff were a slight bit short (rude) but overall great value and location - I would recommend and would stay here again.

United StatesThe room was a little small with 3 twin size beds. One of the beds was very uncomfortable - it was more of a trundle bed and not a good mattress.
I really liked the communication with the receptionist. They were really helpful with getting a car from the airport to the hotel. And we needed two different transportation to the airport from the hotel. They were able to arrange all of this for us and had the drivers come directly to the door. Apparently most drivers will not attempt to drop off passengers in front due to its busy location with pedestrian traffic. The location was very convenient to everything. They spoke english!
