Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe rooms have thin walls and you can hear everything your neighbours are saying. There is a noise from the outside bars but this wasn't a major problem for us in February. I was very surprised to find ourselves locked in the Hotel on two occasions when nobody was on reception. We had to wait for the receptionist to come back to unlock the doors to let us out. There needs to be an access button or card reader for guests and I am sure this must break fire regulations.
Excellent location next to the Plaza Santa Ana with lots of restaurants and bars next to the hotel. Only a 15 minute walk West to the Cathedral and Royal Palace and 15min East to the Museo del Prado. Room modern and clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast is 2 doors down from the Hotel entrance so it meant going outside but the continental breakfast selection was good with quality coffee and orange juice.

PolandSome bathrooms have a shower without a handheld showerhead, only with a rain shower overhead. This is very inconvenient when showering daily over several days.
Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is small and cozy. Breakfasts are good, quite varied. The hotel does not have a restaurant; breakfasts are served in a nearby building, very close by. Besides, food is not an issue, as the hotel has a fantastic location. In Santa Ana Square, there are the best tapas bars and restaurants at affordable prices and in great abundance.

United KingdomThe bed was quite small even for a shortie like me! Shower also very small, and I kept banging my elbows on the walls. I thought it was a little expensive for a 3 star hotel, but the location and cleanliness made it worthwhile, and it was definitely cheaper than a lot of places I looked at.
Fantastic location. Comfortable and very clean. Decent breakfast. The morning receptionist was especially lovely and friendly. My room was nice with good storage space.

United KingdomThe lamp and reading light on one side of the bed did not work, nor did the hairdryer in the bathroom. There was a problem with the TV signal which meant there were only 2 or 3 channels available, all in Spanish. None of these defects spoilt my stay, (I was supplied with a replacement hairdryer and understand Spanish), but I feel this otherwise wonderful hotel is letting itself down and needs to address its maintenance issues.
This was my second visit to this lovely hotel perfectly located on the Plaza de Santa Ana in the heart of Madrid. It is close to the Metro station and bus stops and a short walk to PLaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol and shopping streets, with plenty of bars and restaurants in very close proximity. Room and bathroom tiny but with all amenities to ensure a pleasant and comfortable stay, including a balcony overlooking the plaza, plenty of storage space, a small fridge and a great walk-in shower. Full marks to the two receptionists Stanislava and Alejandro for being so kind, helpful and friendly. Madrid is a wonderful city to visit at any time, but is a magical place during the Christmas period.

IndiaAmazingly located. If it is possible to be in the middle of everything then this hotel is that. Walking distance from everything- restaurants, shops, even vinyl shops (my weakness). The staff were excellent - super helpful. Had the breakfast- decent. I was alone- between flights. Spent around 20 hours in Madrid. This was an inexpensive place that is good for 1 person. The room is very small- but it didn't bother me as I was alone. For couples - it could get a bit cramped especially if you have 2 suitcases.
