Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Lady at the reception and house keeping staff were nice. Bathroom was good, nice shower with warm water. Location was great, good value for the money! Couple of nice coffee shops on that street that seemed to be family owned - one opposite to this accommodation.

United KingdomThere were roadworks outside my room from 9am all day so it wasn't possible to sleep in or have peace in the room during the day. If I'd known about the roadworks I probably wouldn't have stayed here or would expect a discounted rate so this was disappointing. The rooms would benefit from a kettle for making a hot drink in the morning. I'd booked a queen room but was put in a triple room, which was OK but would have preferred a double bed as booked.
Good location, modern rooms which were clean and comfortable. I was able to check into the room early and the Hostal were happy to store my luggage for me after check out.

GermanyAs it is in middle of city, street with restaurants and bars and it is an old building with old walls (but brand new insulated windows), noises around can be heart. No problem for me, as I was here during week pre-season, so not much noisy activity. But if you have problems to sleep with some noise do not come to ANY hotel/ hostal in middle of city!

United KingdomStaff seemed friendly and the lady had a nice smile but virtually no information was given at arrival - just the basics like WiFi code, things to do, any rules etc would have been useful and felt more welcoming. our Spanish is basic but not non-existant and just a piece of paper with info on and a few sentences about the place would really elevate the experience. The guy in the evening barely raised his head to look at us 🙋♂️! It's funny we didn't know there was room cleaning service (€30 a night doesn't usually get you much!) and to be honest we really didn't need/want it, the cleaners threw away soap and changed bedding and towels used once etc.. if reception communicated a tiny bit more they would save time, money, energy and make people feel more welcome 😉👍
Came here after camino for a short break, rooms were nice and tidy and clean, good showers and bed, big screen TV. Wifi was slow but useable and we we're on the 4th floor. The location is great and there seemed to be someone on reception 24/7 and there's a fridge there with drinks available. Very cheap price considering location size and cleanliness.
