Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainThe whole place needs updating, it's very tired and out of date, especially the toilet, ( I have not seen a pull chain cistern for many, many years). The doors aren't self lockable, we had strangers coming into our room twice, after that we remembered to lock our door with the key after we entered. However, none of the above would stop us from staying there again.
The staff were very helpful and cheerful. We had a seaview with balcony and the view from our room was wonderful and the beds very comfortable. Ample wardrobe space and a fridge, also wifi in the room. We opted to stay an extra night at the end of our stay and we were lucky enough to be given the same room without having to move. The location is fabulous, right by the beach and close to restaurants and bars.

SpainThe furniture and decor are soooooo dated. It feels really old. Pity.
The terrace overlooking the sea is amazing. The mattress is comfortable. The location is perfect to enjoy all that Santiago de la Ribera has to offer.

Spainthe thing that lets this place down is the age of the place it must be a 1960 / 1970s hotel and is in urgent need of an upgrade also although the hotel appears clean it's not. I just wished that they carry out a deep clean and paint the rooms if they did am sure they could charge more for the award-winning views from this seafront hotel
Stayed at this hotel a number of times now and always request a front sea view room with the best views ever this time we had views of the international parachute world championship right from our balcony couldn't have asked for better also the staff speak English and are very helpful

SpainWe have stayed at the lido many times before and have always been satisfied, the position of the hotel is perfect but this time we felt it wasn't as clean as when we have stayed before. The bathroom smell of drains was very bad. The toiletries are complimentary but very poor. We were dissapointed this visit as it has putting us off staying again. We feel it needs updating

SpainMy room had a connecting door to the next room which although it was securely locked from my side it was not light or sound proof and I could hear the occupants phone calls, tv etc very clearly because of this. The light from the next room also came into mine once I had turned off the light to sleep . My little dog didn't like it, however this would be a plus if you are a family with children as they would be close to the parents.
We live in Valencia, Spain, and come here to Santiago de la Ribera 3 or for 4 times a year to recharge ourselves and chill out. We chose this hotel this time as it had a Pet friendly policy, they made my little dog very welcome. Central to the beach, restaurants, and plenty of free parking in the surrounding streets. The room had a great balcony with spectacular views of the sea and the paseo. Great location if you have children as there is an ice-cream parlour downstairs, a small fun fair type activity area right outside, and the beach is 10 meters away. In the off season this is closed so it is very quiet. You may also be treated to a spectacular aerial display as the Spanish Air Force Academy is based at the end of the beach. The towels were changed daily, the beds were made and the room was cleaned daily. A Spanish breakfast was available if required at a very good price.
