Great breakfast - freshly squeezed orange juice and made coffee. Maribela the owner makes something every morning as well. Our room had a south-facing balcony, so could get the sun when we wanted. At the same time the room was always cool because of the thick walls and blackout shutters. The place was very clean. Sensible taps and plugs, reliable hot water. The whole place felt solid, cared for, and genuine. The area is good for access to both Liébana and Valdeón.

You always have to take your car to go anywhere

All the staff is really helpfull and super nice. Every morning you have a different kind of homemade cake for breakfast. The posada is really wonderful, with a cozy common area and comfortable and clean rooms

The room is small. not air conditioned. It was possible to at least add a fan, it would have been very helpful, especially when the afternoon sun hits the room.

The place is lovely, in a stunning area. The owner of the house is charming and friendly. And the house itself is pleasant and is located in a breathtaking landscape. Homely and cordial feeling.

our second visit here. basically for the secluded position in the Picos de Europa, off the tourist route. This is a well appointed family run hotel that does a good breakfast. Note that they don't do any other meals but restaurants are approx 2km away in Vada or 12km ion Potes.

An evening meal requires a 5 minute drive into the local village. Walking there is not an option as the road is narrow with no pavement!

Such a beautiful old building full of character and sympathetically restored by the owners, who are a delightful couple, always ready to help with advice about walks or places to go. I use soya milk which they provided and all our requests were met without any problems. The whole family pitch in and we loved the happy, peaceful atmosphere of La Casa de las Arcas. All the fittings are high quality and beautifully made and white linens and flowers everywhere make a wonderful ambiance. Breakfast is delicious, served in the garden room with wonderful mountain views. We had a balcony room on the first floor- highly recommended! We will definitely return one day.

Home hospitality. . Our hosts told us with enthousiasm about the region, gave us excellent advices and most of all: we booked 2 separate beds, and as this was not available they gave us two separate rooms instead without extra charge. We feit extremely at home.. we enjoyed the breakfast with local pancakes and local honey. Thank you!

Any evening meal was a short drive away, this was not unexpected.

Lovely comfortable and characterful property with great attention to detail. The family who ran the property could not do enough for us and helped us arrange trips and activities. The Picos de Europa are a fantastic national park with some dramatic hikes and treks and interesting history. The towns are small and have interesting sites. Vada itself is a very quiet and pretty tranquil place although you do need to go to Potes or La Vega (which had a decent restaurant - Meson la Vega) for eating out. We packed a lot in to our 5 days and could not have do so without the help of Maribel and her family. Cable car and hike down from Fuente De was a really memorable.

There is not the possibility to eat dinner on site and the two eating options; basic pub, or slightly less basic grill pub restaurant are about 3.5 Kms away

Such a beautiful property, whether the main communal area inside, the terrace, breakfast area or the rooms. The family who took care of us were absolutely lovely and so eager to please. the views were gorgeous and it was so peaceful. Stay a while and enjoy the wonderful local walks, whether cascades or view from teh top of a green mountain range, just above the treeline.

Maribel is a great host with a lot of information about sightseeing and places to visit, she and her family are always around checking any detail. The house has an amazing mountain feeling and you are surrounded by nature without any noise and with a great weather.

It was our second stay in Casa de las Arcas and it was as good as the first one. The place is magique and the family guarantees that you are very well taken care of. We never plan what we will do as they give us perfect ideas how to spend each day. The breakfasts with the view are delicious. The room is very comfortable.

This was one of the best places I've ever been to in Spain. The location is spectacular, the hotel itself is beautiful and spotlessly clean, and the staff are helpful and friendly. We would definitely return - winter or summer!
