Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenThe bed don’t have a soft matress on top of the spring mattress. Adding it would improve the sleep quality.
The room has aircondition. The hostel has a back patio with a seating corner.

United KingdomYou definitely need aircon on for a bit at night, the window opens onto terrace where guests take early morning smoke so you might not want to open that. No locks on bedroom door, as a solo traveller, would feel safer going to sleep with dorm door locked
A really great small town stopoff for a breather from steamy non-stop Seville with real sightseeing gems of quite massive monastery, Roman ruins (Game of Throne’s location if you’re a fan) and roman museum within walking distance. Small hostel, everything on one floor Coffee, tea and madeleines really appreciated on arrival from Seville Good shower Comfortable beds Lovely white bedlinen and snug duvet Lockers with keys provided Bus M170A from downstairs in the Plaza des Armes bus station costs €1.65 single ticket and takes 30-40 minutes. Ask to get off at “la parada de la iglesia” bus stop, then take small road on your right by the bar down to the little square, it’s behind the figure with the ‘Santiponce’ sign on red slab. Good rates if you book in advance Great communication re any questions via Facebook messenger Family-run business Daughter was sweet and helpful on checkin and spoke English Small cute town of 7,500 Nice to sit and watch the little square going ons outside in the evening Will definitely be recommending to other traveller for a break and rest from Seville

IndiaNothing at all! Just nothing !
Hands down one of the best hostels I have stayed in so far coz it feels like home. More so because Ana, the lovely lady who runs the place makes you feel so! She helped me right from before I could checkin and even after I checked out with the bus details. In a place where hostels charge you even for basics like locks, this place provides you free cupcakes and small eats. Not that people can’t afford such things, but it’s a personal touch and a sweet gesture. And the place was super clean all the time! If you are in Seville and have time I would definitely recommend Santiponce as it’s a picturesque town and more over in Italica hostel as it’s like feeling at home.

The owner is a lovely and helpful person. She was flexible with my arrival and the communication great. I felt and home during my one night stay. Also had a nice talk with her volunteer. The hostel looks quite new is clean and has a terrace to enjoy the sun. I can definitely recommend.

SpainI'm sure I'm gonna come back. The biggest supermarket is 15 mins. walk from the Italica hostel. But you have plenty of little shops around the area minutes away to buy everything you need.
You have everything you need. The staff is super helpful. The hostel really clean.

Solo traveller with bicycle The hostel is modern, very clean and the facilities are more than adequate for a short stay. There is a small kitchen and communal area and also an outside patio to relax and dry clothes. Entry to the hostel is by a coded door lock at night so the patio area was secure to lock my bike. It is a few minutes walk to restaurants and cafes. What made this hostel really special was the lady running it , Anna. Her customer service skills were excellent and she ensured that the guests had the best possible time. She is extremely helpful, was very patient with my terrible Spanish and kind. The dorm had lockers with keys and each bed had a light and PowerPoint with nice bed linen, duvet and towel. The location of Santiponce is in itself probably worthy of a few days stay. The Roman Amphitheater made famous by the Game of Thrones TV series and the beautiful Monerstary were excellent. I would happily return

AustraliaI didn't like needing to leave. I could easily have enjoyed much longer there both in the hostel and discovering the local area.
Italica hostel hosts Ana and Antonio made me feel very very welcome, safe and comfortable. Their impeccable attention to detail makes for a hostel where one can arrive to Santiponce and see Ancient Roman City ruins where Game of Thrones was filmed and then delightfully sleep well in clean quality bedlinen the quiet.

United StatesThis is a great hostel, spotlessly clean; friendly and very helpful hosts, a quiet location very well situated on the Camino de la Plata, easy walking distance to the Italica Roman ruins, several good places to eat and great guidance from our hosts on choosing the best ones for us. The small kitchen and the inclusive tea and coffee was a very helpful addition.

SingaporeI booked the wrong date and got so worried when I arrived and there was no one and no one answered my call. Ana called me back later and told me she was coming. She was so nice and understanding! She even gave me a list of opened hostels for the Camino Via de la Plata that I was doing and told me where I could find something to eat. The place was super clean and comfortable and I love it that the beds had a little night light and power point to charge my phone. Its value for money too.

GermanyYou couldn't lock the toilets, which in my case didn't matter since I was the only girl in the hostel at the time anyway, but could be a problem if it's more busy. But that's an easy fix. Kitchen is tiny but still possible to cook some simple dishes.
The owners are so nice! Also it's very modern, spotless clean and nice and small. Santiponce is a cute little town just outside Sevilla, so if you look for more locals than tourists, this is the place.
