Staff really helpful and friendly. Looked after our motorcycle gear when we arrived early so we could change and go for a walk before check in. Brilliant location. Food very good - quality and value

Just one small thing: Internet signal in our room was very weak.

The room and bathroom were clean, beds were comfortable enough and bathroom had plenty of towels and hot water. Breakfast was good, dinners were great. Staff very helpful. Location is perfect.

The beds were a bit short for my height and old, but I expected that from the price.

Location could not have been better to the park where we hiked. The food; specifically the pre-fixed meal offering local cuisine was amazingly good.

Very good price-value ratio, perfect location to do the Ruta de Cares trek. We arrived for dinner time, good food and super comfortable to have everything in one place. All good.

Nothing. As long as you don't expect glamour and luxury but just simple comfort, cleanliness and lovely lovely people.

The location is just a small 3 hotel village with funicular so not great if travelling by public transport. Can only get taxi or walk to next big town. But that is no problem at all if staying for walking the area especially the Cares trail which starts from Poncebos. The owners/staff were absolutely lovely, warm and kind. The room was beautifully comfortable and everything clean. We eat in the restaurant and food was basic but wholesome and plentiful. I am not sure if Hostal means hostel as we recognise it in English, but Hostal Poncebos certainly was not. I would love to go back there for the whole experience again.

The location is amazing. We were really lucky with the view from our room- it looked down the river. Also really close to some of the main hiking trails. Dinner was reasonably priced! Room was simple but what you would expect for this price.

Nothing really. For hostal it exceeded my expectations

Super friendly and helpfull staff. The restaurant serves delicious food in the evenings. The breakfast is nothing special but still above average compared to many other places. The room was quite decent as well. The location is perfect if you want to do ruta del cares, bulnes or other hikes in this areas. Furniculum approx 300m from there.

The place can be a bit noisy due to the old doors that make a lot of noise when you open and close

I was looked after wonderfully and I loved my stay here. It was everything I expected it to be and more. An excellent position for hiking in the area, a hearty meal in the evening, a convivial atmosphere, relaxed and comfortable, warm and friendly. Rooms are basic, bathrooms shared, door handles noisy, whiich is part of its charm and good value for money. Sergio chatted to me in my home language English and gave great advice about the hikes, their timing, and general area information. As I say, really enjoyed these few days. Thank you Hostal Poncebos

Amazing location 3 minutes from starting location for Ruta del Cares in Picos de Europa

The location was perfect for exploring some of the most beautiful parts of the Pico de Europa park. The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the food was great and the dinner set menu was excellent value. The room was comfortable and clean. I highly recommend this hotel for the price and location.

Super, unpretentious, honest little family-run hotel on a small road and river at the foot of a staggering limestone gorge - an incredibly lovely setting, minutes on foot from the start some of the most famous and beautiful trails in the Picos. A most kind and genuine local family run it, working all the hours to provide clean rooms, an all-day bar service and a full menu of simple, tasty home-cooked dishes in their restaurant, where a full 3 course dinner with wine included for just €14 represents outstanding value. The bedroom was clean and attractive, the bed and pillows comfortable, it had the private bathroom I had booked, with a good supply of hot water, towels and toiletries. The central heating in my bedroom was good - and very welcome - too. I was very grateful to the helpful blogger (shout out to kevmrc) who first drew my attention to the Hostal Poncebos as the best place to stay for exploring this part of the Picos. I wholly agree!
