Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta, Iceland, Australia, Greece, Brazil and North Carolina. For properties in these regions, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Arriving at the hotel address you are disoriented since there is no indication, you have to enter the bar and ask about your reservation. Position is very good, but very noisy since rooms have windows on a crowded square: earplugs really needed ;-) We expected to have shared bathroom, but instead we had a private one in the room, this raises the score a lot!

AustriaAccess to the rooms is by a narrow winding stairs with no handrail. If you have mobility issues or travel with the kitchen sink, you will be more comfortable elsewhere. Compared to what is offered, there is better value elsewhere in the city.
Good location close to the historic centre and the port. Small room but with good bathroom and comfortable bed. Rooms overlook a busy square, but I found the double glazing to be effective in minimizing the noise.

Czech RepublicThe room was very clean and nice, it had private terrace (view to the cathedral) and bathroom. The building is in the middle of the historical center. The only problem was the women on the reception could not (or did not want) speak english. Overall I can reccomend this hostel.

AustraliaThe reception staff were also running the bar so quick check-in process was a little off hand. There is no lift and so moving luggage up and down the stairs can be challenging.
This is well located opposite the cathedral and square with plenty of bars and cafes close by including on the premises.

United StatesThe glass panel for the shower doesn’t contain all of the shower spray. When we took showers, much of the bathroom, including toilet, got wet and we had to dry it with towels afterwards.
The hosts are very friendly and made us feel welcomed. It was convenient to be located above the cafe/bar, so we could get an afternoon drink and snack. Our room had a lovely terrace overlooking the small plaza by the church. The room had twin beds and was quite small for two people to maneuver about, but it was manageable. The property is walking distance to some great shops and restaurants.

United KingdomIt is noisy. This could be due to us being on the first floor, but it felt like every conversation, door closed, running of water, any movement by other visitors made could be heard in the room
The hostal is very central and a great location for exploring Vigo

GreeceNoise from the the corridor and other rooms. Not enough natural light in the room - the window was too small. They could also have a shampoo tank on the bathtub instead of these small shampoo sachets.
The location is the best you can get, close to the main plaza with the Xmas tree and the rest of the Xmas lights. It was clean and the bed was comfortable.

GermanyGreat location right next to the harbor and a very lively plaza. This means it can be rather crowded and a bit loud at night but you cannot blame the hostel for that. Staff was friendly and the rooms were clean. Good deal, would come back again.

United KingdomFire safety concern. To get out of the building you need to unlock using keys 3x doors. If you leave the key in your room door, that one is sorted and can be opened quickly. But for the other two you need to remember to bring the keys and then try to insert the keys in the locks while in a potentially stressful situation. As expected for the location, it's very noisy until late in the night (1-2am).
In the very centre. Great location also for the Camino.

Clean, comfortable room in old town. A few steps to camino. It was really nice to see people from my window and listen to music from bars and rest after camino in my bed. I don"t sleep very well, but it was nice experience. Very good for 1 night
